Mavs dominate Kings in finale

LAS VEGAS -- The Dallas Mavericks handed the Sacramento Kings an 85-54 loss in the final game at COX Pavillion of the 2010 NBA Summer League held on the campus of UNLV. The Mavericks jumped out to a 20-7 first-quarter lead and never trailed in the contest.

The Mavericks had three players in double-digits including a game-high 17 points by Dominique Jones. Rodrigue Beaubois assisted with 15 points and Jeremy Lin had 12 points off the bench for Dallas. The Kings had two people in double-figures , Sylven Landesberg leading the way with 13 points and Devan Downey off the bench with 11.

The Kings finished the contest shooting just 25.4 percent (17-67) to the Mavericks' 46.4 percent (32-69)

The Mavericks dominated the Kings in the opening half leading by as many as 23 in the half and took a 45-24 lead after two quarters. The Kings were led by Jones who scored 14 points in the opening half of play while the Kings were led by Landesberg with nine points.

The Mavericks continued to dominate the game building lead to as many as 40 in the second half.

Prior to the start of the game, DeMarcus Cousins was named the T-Mobile Rookie of the Month. Cousins played 27 minutes in the ball game and scored six points and had six rebounds.

The Mavericks will head back to Texas with a record of 2-3 while the Kings head to California with a record of 4-2.
