Chris Paul
New Orleans Hornets
Point Guard
Complete stats
Paul is having a year that surpasses the best seasons of two-time MVP Steve Nash ... and he's doing it without the same supporting cast. Add in his leadership and character, both on and off the court, and he should be the face of the NBA.

LeBron James
Cleveland Cavaliers
Forward
Complete stats
LeBron is the best individual player in the NBA. He doesn't have much support, which makes what he does on any given night even more impressive. If the Cavs ever put any talent around him, he could win the award unanimously.

Kobe Bryant
Los Angeles Lakers
Shooting Guard
Complete stats
Kobe is have a great season, but it's not been his best. The Lakers are winning, and I know some will want to give it to him as a "Lifetime Achievement Award" ... but he's neither the best player on the best team nor the best individual player in the league. So how do you give it to him?

Kevin Garnett
Boston Celtics
Power Forward
Complete stats
KG wins the award for "best player on the best team." He's been the heart and soul of the most dominant team in the league. His individual numbers don't quite match up with those of the three guys ahead of him, but he's still awesome.

Amare Stoudemire
Phoenix Suns
Forward
Complete stats
During the second half of the season, Stoudemire has been the most dominant big man in the NBA. He's made the questionable Shaq trade look like a winning move for the Suns.
