Ford's 2008-09 MVP ballot

We asked NBA writers from ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine, as well as NBA analysts from ESPN, to provide their choices for NBA Most Valuable Player, ranked from 1 to 5.
Here is Chad Ford's ballot:
LeBron is the best player in the game, and he's playing on the team with the best record in the league. If he's not the unanimous pick for MVP, it's a crime.
| Dwyane Wade
Wade is the most dominant offensive player in the league right now and has passed Kobe Bryant. His team is awful, yet he has found a way to carry it from the depths of the lottery to the playoffs.
Paul has the potential to be the best point guard to play the game. He's that good. I just wish he played on a team we got to watch more often.
The most dominant big man in the NBA is having a MVP-worthy season and has Magic fans debating whether he or Shaq is the best center in franchise history.
| Kobe Bryant
Kobe's still terrific, and the Lakers have the best shot of winning the NBA Finals, but the young guys have passed him in terms of pure impact on the floor.
