Bucher's 2010-11 MVP ballot
Updated: April 12, 2011, 1:48 AM ETBy | ESPN.com
We asked NBA writers from ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine, as well as NBA analysts from ESPN, to provide their choices for NBA Most Valuable Player, ranked from 1 to 5.
Here is Ric Bucher's ballot:
The MVL (most valuable leader), MVC (most valuable closer) and MUD (most underrated defender) is the only logical choice.
| Dirk Nowitzki
The Mavs should not be a 55-plus-win team and yet they are, thanks, above and beyond everything else, to the efficiency and scoring versatility of Nowitzki.
In the same way Shaq once was, James is the league's most physically dominant player. Hard to imagine him not ever being on this list.
Offensive repertoire continues to expand and his defense is renowned, but he either has to become more dominant in those areas or be a factor at the end of games to top this list.
It's a testament to his competitive will, resourcefulness and complete game that he remains MVP-caliber even though Father Time is starting to collect.
