Seattle (49-21) at San Antonio (52-18) 8:30 pm EST

SAN ANTONIO (ESPN.com news services) -- The San Antonio Spurs hope to beat another Western Conference heavyweight without Tim Duncan on Wednesday when they host the Northwest Division-leading Seattle SuperSonics.

The Spurs, who lead the Southwest Division by five games and trail the Phoenix Suns by one for the best record in the NBA, lost Duncan two minutes into a 110-101 setback to the Detroit Pistons on March 20 due to a severely sprained right ankle.

San Antonio went on to lose its next two contests before bouncing back with consecutive wins, including an 83-70 triumph Sunday over the Houston Rockets, who own the sixth-best record in the West.

Manu Ginobili scored 18 points to lead six players in double figures and the Spurs forced 17 turnovers en route to their fifth consecutive home win.

It may not be that easy against the SuperSonics, who have won six of their last seven games and clinched a playoff berth Tuesday with a 102-99 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Western Conference Player of the Week Ray Allen scored 22 points. All-Star Rashard Lewis missed the game with a bruised right foot, but Jerome James helped make up for his absence with a career-high 22 points.

Lewis will also miss tonight's game.

The win drew Seattle within three games of San Antonio for the second seed in the West.

Even with Duncan, the Spurs had some trouble with the Sonics. Seattle has won two of three in the season series, including a 102-96 win here on December 8.
