Mavericks seek to extend seven-game winning streak

Memphis (8-5) at Dallas (9-2) 8:30 pm EST

DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Dallas Mavericks look to extend their seven-game winning streak when they host the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.

The Mavericks are just one of four teams who are unbeaten at home (5-0).

Josh Howard scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Dirk Nowitzki added 23 points as Dallas posted a 103-90 triumph in Miami on Friday.

Mavericks coach Avery Johnson improved his regular-season record to 25-4, one away from matching the best 30-game start in NBA history set by Al Cervi, who had a 26-4 mark while coaching the Syracuse Nationals in the 1949-50 season.

Memphis is coming off an 86-81 home victory over Houston. Shane Battier scored 20 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter, It was his third straight game with 20 or more points.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Grizzlies, who have lost 14 of their last 16 games against the Mavericks, including all four meetings last season.
