Portland (20-43) at New Jersey (34-28) 7:30 pm EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- With a host of home games on the horizon, the New Jersey Nets have an opportunity to inch toward another Atlantic Division title.

One stretch of home games begins Wednesday when the Nets host the Portland Trail Blazers.

Winners of three of the last four Atlantic Division titles, New Jersey will play 14 of its final 20 games at Continental Airlines Arena, where it is 19-9 this season.

The club gave itself some momentum heading into the three-game homestand by winning the last two games of a three-game road trip, capped by Monday's 90-77 victory at Houston.

Vince Carter scored 29 points and Jason Kidd notched his 73rd career triple-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. The Nets held the Rockets to a 34 percent (26-of-76) mark from the floor in their best defensive effort this season.

The Trail Blazers opened a four-game road trip in dismal fashion Tuesday, dropping a 95-66 decision at Chicago. Zach Randolph scored 25 points but no other Portland player had more than eight and the club failed to score 20 points in each quarter.

Although signs point to a victory for New Jersey, it dropped an 88-83 decision in Portland on January 27. Juan Dixon scored 26 points for the Blazers, who are 6-26 on the road.
