LA Clippers at Denver 10:30 pm EDT Western Conference First Round Clippers lead, 2-1

DENVER (Ticker) -- After their performances in Game Three, the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets have to clean up their acts.

The Clippers try to bounce back from an ugly loss and take a 3-1 lead on the Nuggets on Saturday when the teams continue their best-of-seven first-round series.

After losing the first two games in Los Angeles, Denver rebounded to post a 94-87 triumph on Thursday. Carmelo Anthony scored 24 points but shot just 6-of-17 from the field and 12-of-19 from the line.

Anthony's efforts epitomized a game in which the teams combined for 68 fouls, 39 turnovers and 21 missed free throws.

Denver shot just 38 percent (31-of-82) and missed all 11 of its 3-pointers. Los Angeles shot 40 percent (29-of-72) and committed a season-high 25 turnovers.

Corey Maggette scored 23 points and Sam Cassell contributed 20 for the sixth-seeded Clippers, who received only 21 points from their starting frontcourt - including 17 from Elton Brand - on combined 7-of-24 shooting.

Andre Miller scored 14 points, Earl Boykins and Greg Buckner 13 apiece and Marcus Camby 12 and 14 boards for the third-seeded Nuggets, who had lost six straight games overall, in addition to five straight to the Clippers.

The series shifts to Los Angeles for Game Five on Monday.
