PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- The
Portland Trail Blazers are as
hot as they have been in a long time.
Portland goes for its sixth straight win on Friday when they
host the
Toronto Raptors.
The Trail Blazers have not won six consecutive games since they
won eight straight from December 14-30, 2002. Portland won its
fifth straight game on Wednesday when it edged the Houston
Rockets, 89-87.
Zach Randolph, who is averaging 25.3 points per game, led the
Blazers with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Jarret Jack chipped in
with 13 points and
Travis Outlaw 12 for Portland, which shot 44
percent from the field.
The Blazers also got some good news in the return of guard
Brandon Roy. The rookie, who sat out 20 games with a bad heel,
played 24 minutes and finished with nine points.
The Raptors have also played well in winning four of its last
five. Toronto's last win was a 98-96 win over the Los Angeles
Clippers on Wednesday.
T.J. Ford hit a buzzer-beater from the
foul line to give the Raptors the win.
Fred Jones led Toronto with 23 points while Ford scored 14
points and grabbed nine rebounds.
