    Raptors win season-high fourth straight

ATLANTA (AP) -- It remains to be seen whether the Toronto Raptors can put teams away. They have shown they can win on a last-second shot.

After squandering four 11-point leads, the Raptors beat the Atlanta Hawks 104-103 Saturday when Hakeem Olajuwon scored with 1.8 seconds left.

Atlanta led 103-102 after Nazr Mohammed hit two free throws with three seconds left. After a Toronto timeout, Olajuwon took an inbounds pass from Vince Carter and hit the turnaround jumper for the winning points.

"In the NBA, three seconds is a long time," Olajuwon said. "The most important thing is to get a good shot."

It was the Raptors' fourth straight win, a season high, and Atlanta's fourth loss in five games.

"Dream Olajuwon hit a great shot," said Dion Glover, whose last-second shot missed. "That's his shot. I didn't think it was going to Hakeem."

Added Carter, "That's why he's one of the 50 greatest. He proved it tonight. He can take the big shots and make them."

Carter scored 19 points to lead Toronto, just the third time in 17 games he's fallen short of 20.

Seven Toronto players scored in double figures. Olajuwon had 16 and Keon Clark added 14.

Glover scored a season-high 25 points for the Hawks. Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 22.

"Every play, other than the very last one, we got some good out of it," Abdur-Rahim said. "With 1.8 seconds, it's tough to get the look we wanted. We thought Glove got fouled, but the ref said no."

Under former Atlanta coach Lenny Wilkens, the Raptors have won two of the three games in Atlanta.

The game had six lead changes in the final two minutes, and Atlanta was held without a field goal for the final 1:59.

The Raptors led by as many as 11 points on four occasions, the last coming in the opening minute of the third quarter. Each time, the Hawks climbed back into the game.

"When we have a significant lead we need to put teams away," Carter said. "Late in the season you're going have to learn to win these games. You're not going to blow people out night in and night out."

Atlanta, which missed its first six shots of the game, took its first lead at 62-61 on Abdur-Rahim's baseline jumper, capping an 11-2 run midway through the third period, but Toronto responded with a 10-2 spurt to regain the lead.

The Raptors led 80-72 after three quarters, but the Hawks opened the fourth with a 12-3 run, assuming a 84-83 lead when Glover scored with 8:22 to go.

Three times in the last five minutes, Toronto upped its lead to four only to have Atlanta respond. Mohammed's layup with 1:59 to go put the Hawks up 99-98.

Atlanta led 101-100 after Abdur-Rahim's two free throws with 28.8 seconds remaining. Olajuwon put Toronto ahead 102-101 at 23.8 seconds with a pair of free throws.

    Game notes
The Raptors made five 3-pointers, the 220th consecutive game in which they have made at least one, the longest current streak in the NBA. ... Since starting the season 0-for-22 from the field, Atlanta guard Jacque Vaughn is shooting 75 percent (25-for-33). ... Hawks forward Alan Henderson will visit a knee specialist in Indianapolis to have his right knee examined. It's the same doctor who performed ligament surgery on Henderson eight years ago. ... Atlanta is 1-6 when allowing 100 points or more.
