    CHICAGO (AP) -- Kirk Hinrich scored 21 points to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 116-97 exhibition victory over the Boston Celtics on Saturday night.

    Ben Gordon and Michael Sweetney each had 16 points for Chicago. Sweetney and Tyson Chandler grabbed seven rebounds apiece.

    The Bulls (1-2) started the third quarter on a 21-3 run, including 10 points by Hinrich, to lead the Celtics 75-48 with 7:12 left in the quarter.

    Boston couldn't get the lead below 14 in the fourth quarter as both teams played their reserves.

    Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 18 points, and Ricky Davis added 15.

    The Celtics (1-2), who came into the game averaging 9.5 more rebounds than their opponent, were outrebounded by the Bulls 45-39.

    Chicago played without Malik Allen, who was out with an injured hamstring. Tony Allen, Marcus Banks and Al Jefferson missed the game for Boston with injuries.
