Mighty Mouse lifts Grizz in the final seconds

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Damon Stoudamire scored 16 points to lead
the Memphis Grizzlies to an 82-78 exhibition victory over the
Houston Rockets on Saturday night.

Houston was trailing 80-78 with six seconds to play when Derek
Anderson threw the ball out of bounds on a bad pass. Stoudamire
drew a foul on the next play and made two free throws.

Pau Gasol also had 16 points for Memphis, while Shane Battier
and Mike Miller each had 11. Eddie Jones had nine points and eight
rebounds for Memphis.

Yao Ming led Houston with 20 points and Tracy McGrady added 17.
Stromile Swift had 16 points and eight rebounds.

Houston had taken a 54-42 lead early in the third quarter on a
turnaround jumper by Yao. But the Grizzlies used a 12-2 run capped
by a reverse layup by Miller to close the Rockets' lead to two.

Memphis began the final period up 64-63.

The Rockets held a 49-38 halftime lead after ending the second
quarter with a 10-1 run. Yao contributed five points in the run,
while Jon Barry hit a 3-pointer and McGrady added two free throws.

Both teams were slow getting started, with the Grizzlies
shooting 30.4 percent in the first quarter and the Rockets scoring
on 36.8 percent of their shots in the period.
