Garrity's buzzer-beater lifts Magic past Grizzlies

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Pat Garrity hit a running one-hander at
the buzzer to give the Orlando Magic a 67-65 exhibition victory
over Memphis on Monday night.

Garrity made the winning 20-footer after the Grizzlies' Dahntay
Jones tied it with a 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds to play.

Jameer Nelson led Orlando with 13 points, including seven in the
fourth quarter. Hedo Turkoglu added 11 points and Garrity finished
with 10. The Magic shot 30.6 percent from the field and 53.8
percent from the line.

Jones scored 10 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter, and
Shane Battier added 10 points for Memphis. The Grizzlies also
struggled from the field, shooting 30.3 percent.

The Grizzlies played without starting guard Mike Miller (sore
right foot) and newcomer Bobby Jackson (pulled right hamstring).
Orlando's Grant Hill sat out the game because of an abdominal

Orlando's Steve Francis left the game after being struck in the
head during a third-quarter collision. He was down on the floor for
about 3 minutes, but was not seriously injured and is expected to
play Thursday night in Orlando against Miami.
