Duncan leads Spurs over Answer-less Sixers

SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Tim Duncan had 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead the San Antonio Spurs over the Philadelphia 76ers 101-98 in an exhibition game Thursday night.

Tony Parker added 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting for the Spurs (2-7).

Brent Barry hit a 3-pointer with 37.9 seconds remaining that snapped a 96-96 tie. Barry finished with 21 points and made five of six 3-pointers.

With Philadelphia down 99-98 after Steven Hunter answered Barry's 3-pointer with a slam dunk, Chris Webber missed a hook shot with 3 seconds remaining. Duncan rebounded it and made two free throws after being fouled with 1.7 seconds left.

Kyle Korver missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer for Philadelphia (3-5).

Hunter led the 76ers with 24 points. He entered the game when starting center Samuel Dalembert aggravated a right quadriceps injury 2:12 into the contest. Dalembert missed the first six preseason games because of the injury before playing 20 minutes Tuesday against New York.

Sixers guard Allen Iverson did not play for the fourth time in the last five games due to a right knee injury.

Webber, playing in his second straight game after missing the first six preseason games with a right quadriceps strain, scored 21 and added a team-high 12 rebounds.

Spurs starting forward Bruce Bowen was not at the game due to a death in the family.

Both teams concluded their preseason. Each team opens the regular season at home Tuesday. Philadelphia plays Milwaukee while San Antonio plays Denver.
