The Raptors seemed to take the undermanned Bobcats lightly as
they trailed by 12 points at halftime. Fans booed the Raptors in
the final seconds of the half as Charlotte finished the second
quarter on a 10-0 run that included four layups.
"The fans were booing us and we understood why," Mitchell
said. "It's not important what I said or how I said it. It's just
the fact our guys came out and played better and did what we needed
to do to win the game."
Morris Peterson had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Raptors,
who have won six of eight.
Bosh said Mitchell ripped them for their slow start -- a trend
"He had his choice words," Bosh said. "They seemed like they
wanted the game more than we did, so we had to come out in the
second half with intensity."
Point guard Brevin Knight didn't play in the second half because
of back spasms.
Charlotte beat Houston in double overtime on Tuesday, and the
Bobcats seemed to tire in the final minutes as Toronto finished the
game on a 11-1 run.
"We don't have any excuses. We just didn't get it done at
winning time," Charlotte coach Bernie Bickerstaff said.
James started the run with two free throws, giving Toronto the
lead for good with 2:12 left
Peterson followed with a key 3-pointer that gave Toronto an
89-85 lead with 1:25 remaining.
After Bosh made two free throws, James had a steal and a
fastbreak layup to make it 93-85 with 58 seconds left.
Toronto outscored Charlotte 32-23 in the fourth quarter.
"It's real tough. We have been playing short-handed for a
while, but we still have come up with a couple of victories, so
that's no excuse," Jones said. "We just didn't make plays down

The Bobcats have lost five of six. ... Okafor, the reigning
NBA rookie of the year, had to be helped from the floor in the
second overtime after scoring 21 points Tuesday night. Okafor, who
returned Tuesday after an eight-game absence with a sprained ankle,
reinjured himself when he stepped on someone's foot and was on
crutches after the game.
