BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- Hedo Turkoglu scored 21 points on 8-of-9 shooting, and Dwight Howard had 20 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Orlando Magic to a 109-88 preseason victory over the Atlanta Hawks at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center Arena on Thursday night.

The Magic (4-1) outscored Atlanta 33-17 in the second quarter to take a 58-36 lead. Howard scored six points in a 14-1 run over a 5-minute span midway through the quarter.

Marvin Williams led the Hawks (3-2) with 15 points, while Salim Stoudamire and Matt Freije each added 13 and Josh Childress had 11 points and five assists.

Turkoglu, who missed the first three preseason games with flu-like symptoms, scored seven points but committed three fouls in only 7 minutes in the first half. He fouled out in the third quarter.

Carlos Arroyo had 16 points and seven assists for Orlando, which outrebounded Atlanta 45-31 and held the Hawks to 41.9 percent shooting from the field.

The game was the second between the teams in the past three days. Atlanta beat the Magic 100-96 on Tuesday in Orlando.

Darko Milicic of the Magic missed the game after bruising his lower back Tuesday against the Hawks. Atlanta's Joe Johnson, who scored 27 points against the Magic on Tuesday, was rested Thursday.

Orlando's Tony Battie played for the first time this preseason after missing the previous four games with a sore right knee. He finished with eight points and four rebounds.
