Sacramento 84, Portland 78

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Kevin Martin scored 26 points to help
the Sacramento Kings beat the Portland Trailblazers 84-78 on Friday
night in the final preseason game for both teams.

After losing its previous two games, the Kings built an early
lead against the Blazers and remained in control through much of a
lackluster game.

Ron Artest added 19 points and eight rebounds for the Kings
(5-3). Brad Miller had 11 points and eight rebounds after missing
two games with an injured finger.

Blazers rookie Brandon Roy scored 16 points -- all in the second
half. Travis Outlaw added 12 points and Stephen Graham 10.

Martin, the Kings' leading scorer in the preseason, made his
first five shots, including three 3-pointers and all four free
throws in scoring 17 points for Sacramento, which built a 46-39
halftime lead.

Sacramento played once again without starting point guard Mike
Bibby, who is expected to miss at least the first week of the
regular season with a thumb injury.

Zach Randolph sat out the game for Portland (2-6) after playing
45 minutes in Wednesdays loss to Seattle.

The Kings open the regular season Wednesday in Dallas, while
Portland plays the same night in Seattle.
