MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Hakim Warrick scored 17 points, and Rudy Gay keyed a third-quarter spurt with 10 of his 16 points to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 96-90 victory over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.

Tarence Kinsey and Stromile Swift scored 12 each for Memphis, while guard Damon Stoudamire had 11 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 19 minutes. Andre Brown also had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Kirk Snyder scored 11 points for Houston, while Luis Scola, Aaron Brooks and Carl Landry had 10 apiece. Scola and Landry each had seven rebounds.

Memphis led 91-76 after Juan Carlos Navarro connected on a 3-pointer with 4:14 left. A 14-2 rally by Houston made the game close down the stretch, but the Rockets could never overtake Memphis, which defeated Houston for the second straight night.

Kyle Lowry's tip in as time ran out in the second overtime gave Memphis a 109-107 victory in Houston on Tuesday night.

The Rockets were without starters Yao Ming, Steve Francis and Tracy McGrady, who did not dress, providing a look at Synder as well as rookies Brooks from Oregon and Scola from Argentina.

Meanwhile, Memphis again played without last year's leading scorer and rebounder, Pau Gasol, who is recovering from a sprained left ankle. Guard Mike Miller also didn't play, although he was dressed.
