AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- The Dallas Mavericks had several things going for them Sunday night.
The Detroit Pistons were missing Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince, and leading scorer Ben Gordon had one of the worst nights of his career, going 1 for 16 from the floor.That wasn't enough to make things easy for the Mavericks, though, as they saw Gordon get an open look at a game-tying 3-pointer with 2 seconds left.Fast Facts
• The Mavericks improved to 7-3 behind 25 points from Dirk Nowitzki, his fifth straight 20-point game.
• Rookie Rodrigue Beaubois added a career-high 14 points on 6-for-6 shooting for the Mavs, who outscored the Pistons 31-20 in the third quarter.
• The Pistons are now 0-3 in the second game of back-to-backs this season.
• Ben Gordon shot just 1 for 16 from the field, his worst shooting performance in a game in which he took more than 10 shots.
