In Caron Butler's new memoir, the former Wizard described the locker room gunplay incident like 'Old West': "Other players who had been casually arriving, laughing and joking with each other, came to a sudden halt, their eyes bugging out. It took them only a few seconds to realize this was for real." 'I didn't panic'

LeBron: 'I will lead but I won't carry' Cavs

Before a shootaround Wednesday at Xavier University, LeBron James said, "We have enough guys until all our guys get here. Until Kyrie [Irving] and Tristan [Thompson] and [Iman Shumpert] is ready, we have enough guys that will all help. It's not about me carrying the team and that nature. We're all grown men, we're all professionals and they're here to do their job."

In the 41 games Bryant’s played over the last two seasons, he’s averaged 21.1 PPG while shooting under 38 percent. That’s the worst field goal percentage over any two-year stretch in the shot-clock era in which a player averaged at least 20 PPG.

Mavs first-round pick Justin Anderson had an underwhelming line in his preseason debut: one point, one rebound, no assists in 22 minutes. "It's jumping in to the deep end when you come out of college and go in to your first NBA game and you have to start against starting-caliber players," coach Rick Carlisle said. "He learned a lot tonight."

ICYMI: Nothing but dunks

Jordan Kilganon, a 6-foot-1 professional dunker, showed off some of his best dunks, including a between-the-legs, behind-the-back jam.

Curry knows his 3-pointer is all that

When you know your shot is money, you just high five your teammate in the midst of the swish. That's exactly what Warriors guard Stephen Curry did.
