| 2005 Draft Picks - Oklahoma City Thunder |
| RD | PK(OVR) | NAME | POS | SCHOOL/COUNTRY |
| 1 | 25(25) | Johan Petro | C | France |
The Sonics could potentially lose both Jerome James and Vitaly Potapenko this summer, leaving just Robert Swift in the middle. Petro is big and athletic but still very raw. Like Swift, he's going to take some time to develop, but he does have a lot of potential. Head coach Nate McMillan said he'd like to bring over Petro this season.

| 2 | 18(48) | Mickaël Gelabale | SF | France |
The Sonics go over to France again and land another guy who could eventually be a good NBA player. Gelabale is very good athlete who plays great defense and has an emerging offense game. He had a very good season for Real Madrid and will probably spend a season or two overseas.

| 2 | 25(55) | Lawrence Roberts | PF | Mississippi St. |
Update: Sonics traded the rights to No. 55 Lawrence Roberts to the Grizzlies for Grizzlies' 2006 second-round pick, the Grizzlies' 2007 second-round and cash. Last year Roberts thought he was a first-round pick. This year he barely made it into the second round. He's a solid low post player, who should help the Grizzlies in the rebounding department.
