Fatih Solak

CENTER | (7-0, 270) | TURKEY

Notes: Fatih Solak made his professional debut during the 2000-01 season and has played in the Turkish second division. In 2001-02 joined Besiktas Spor Kulubu (Turkey).

Positives: Solak is a strong low-post defender with emerging offensive skills. Uses his large frame to block out and grab rebounds. Has incredible natural strength.

Negatives: A lot closer to Vitaly Potapenko than Pau Gasol. Solak can be lumbering to say the least. Has no offense outside of point blank range shots. Can be prone to turnovers and struggles to run the floor. Doesn't appear to be in the greatest of shape.

Summary: Teams like Solak because he's one of the few traditional centers in the draft, but he's a big project. He doesn't have the fundamentals of most Europeans and relies on his size and strength to do damage in the middle. Despite all of the negatives, he's still got a shot to slip into the late first round on his size alone.
