Five coaches, including three from Wisconsin high schools, were selected Thursday to lead the nation's elite talent at the boys and girls 2008 McDonald's All-American Games on March 26 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
Both games will be shown live on the ESPN family of networks. The seventh girls game tips at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU and the 31st boys game follows at 9:30 p.m. on ESPN.
Milwaukee residents Jim Gosz of King High and Tom Diener of Vincent High will serve as co-coaches of the West boys squad and Woodie Jackson of Francis Marion High in Marion, Ala., will lead the East boys team.
"This is the biggest coaching honor I've ever had," Gosz said. "The fact it's in my hometown makes it even more special."
Tom Klawitter, a former major league pitcher with the Minnesota Twins and Toronto Blue Jays and current girls coach at Janesville (Wisc.) Parker High, will guide the West team and Sherri Retif of Germantown Academy (Fort Washington, Pa.) will lead the East.
