RHP Kyle McCulloch started Wednesday and Sunday, working nine scoreless innings with nine strikeouts. He leads the team with 38 innings and 32 strikeouts. Soph. OF Drew Stubbs hit two home runs Saturday to help secure the first win for Fr. RHP Adrian Alaniz (now in the rotation with Sr. LHP Buck Cody back in the bullpen).

Notes: Jr. LHP Ricky Romero held Tulane to one hit through six innings Friday before allowing a run on two hits in the seventh. Jr. RF Sergio Pedroza hit three homers against Tulane and drove in eight runs on the week. Fullerton failed to reach double digits in hits Sunday for the first time since the season's second game, as the Titans lost to Tulane for the first time in 10 games. Fullerton still out-homered the Green Wave 10-2 in the series.

Notes: Jr. CF Nathan Southard and Sr. SS Tommy Manzella collected four hits and three RBI each on Sunday as Tulane slugged enough (and turned a triple play) to avoid a sweep. Manzella totaled nine hits, including two doubles, for the week and has a 14-game hit streak. Sr. 1B/DH Scott Madden extended his hitting streak to 15 games. A school record 17,181 fans attended the Fullerton series, including 9,385 at Zephyr Field on Saturday and 4,085 at Turchin Stadium on Friday, the second-largest total ever.

Notes: The two wins against Clemson helped Gamecocks coach Ray Tanner move to 15-14 all-time vs. the in-state rival. Sr. RHP Aaron Rawl (5.2 IP, 7 H, 2 R) earned the win Saturday, No. 30 for his career, and is one win shy of tying for fifth place all-time at South Carolina. Sr. OF Brendan Winn hit a two-run homer Saturday to extend his team lead to eight. Winn also delivered a double during a three-run rally in the eighth inning Sunday to raise his team-best RBI total to 24. Four South Carolina pitchers combined to one-hit Charleston Southern on Wednesday.

Notes: LSU scored 12 times in the fourth inning Sunday against Arizona State, hitting four consecutive home runs. Sr. Ryan Patterson hit one of those to give him a two-homer game for the second straight day. He added eight runs and seven RBI on the weekend and raised his overall average to .403. Sr. 2B Clay Harris collected eight hits, a home run and five RBI on the week. Jr. C Matt Liuzza moved back into full-time duty behind the plate after previously splitting time. He homered Sunday. Jr. OF Bruce Sprowl had surgery Thursday to repair a broken finger and could miss three weeks, while Sr. Blake Gill played his first series in the field, at 3B, after having fall shoulder surgery.

C Brian Jeroloman went 8-for-16 with seven RBI and seven runs on the week, adding the second and third home runs of his career. Fr. DH Jared Kubin batted .545 with seven RBI against Michigan State. Sr. CF Jeff Corsaletti has a 10-game hitting streak. Jr. RHP Alan Horne did not pitch on the week while recovering from the flu.

Jr. RHP Cesar Carrillo and Sr. RHP Dan Touchet won the first two games of the Duke series. So. SS Roger Tomas missed the first two games of the Duke series with an illness but returned Sunday with three hits. Soph. LF Jon Jay's hit streak ended Sunday at 17 games. Jr. 3B Ryan Braun tied a school record with three steals in the fourth inning Friday.

Notes: The Texas A&M bullpen allowed two runs in 14.2 innings against UCLA, including five scoreless innings by Fr. RHP Jordan Chambless, who earned a win and a save and has 24 strikeouts in 15.2 innings this year. Jr. SS Cliff Pennington homered and drove in three runs Sunday as A&M earned its third comeback win of the series. His double began a three-run rally in the seventh inning.

Notes: Georgia Tech set an ACC record with its 22nd straight conference win Sunday, as it swept the series. The Yellow Jackets are doing it with the sticks, scoring 81 runs on a .423 batting average during the week. They've scored 15 runs or more in each of the last six games. Jr. RF Jeremy Slayden went 11-for-14 with four home runs and 17 RBI on the week. Jr. SS Tyler Greene hit two grand slams in the series, one of which was an inside the parker.

Notes: Jr. RHP Josh Geer fired six scoreless innings Saturday to drop his ERA to 0.94. Rice got just three hits Sunday, but Jrs. Ryne Tacker and Lance Pendleton made it stand up by allowing just four hits of their own. Fr. LHP Joe Savery struck out eight batters in career-high 7.1 innings Friday, but took the one-run loss as Lance Broadway held the Owls to a run on three hits.

Notes: The Tar Heels busted out of an offensive slump (.193 in four games in the previous week) by piling up 29 runs and batting .372 in two games, then snow and rain forced the cancellation of the final two games of the Virginia Tech series, which will not be made up. Sr. C Justin Webb homered twice and drove in seven runs Friday during a game in which North Carolina scored in seven different innings.

Jr. RHP Mark Holliman struck out 11 batters in eight innings Friday, allowing a run on three hits. Soph. 3B Chris Coughlan hit two home runs in Sunday's win. Jr. LHP/DH Stephen Head hit his fifth home run of the year Saturday and allowed three runs over 6.1 innings to earn the win on the mound.

Notes: The Razorbacks have won 11 straight games, tied with Tennessee for the nation's best active streak. Fr. Shaun Siebert allowed three hits over five innings Sunday to win his first career start. The Hogs stole a season-high 11 bags in that one, falling one shy of the school record. Soph. OF Jake Dugger stole a career-best three bases to lead the way after hitting home runs in each of the first two games of the series. Sr. OF Casey Rowlett batted .583 with seven RBI and six steals on the week, missing Sunday's game with an illness. A nonconference record of 7,932 fans came to Saturday's game. "I'm excited to see what happens when we get into conference games," coach Dave Van Horn said.

RF Mike Pankratz hit a grand slam Friday to key a six-run rally in the 13th inning. Jr. RHP Abe Woody went 5.1 innings Friday, allowing four hits and a run for the win in relief. Sr. 2B Michael Griffin batted .412 with six RBI on the weekend, including a two-run single during a three-run ninth-inning rally Sunday.

Mike Pankratz hit a grand slam to highlight a six-run Baylor rally in the 13th inning Friday, finding a conclusion for a game tied 3-3 after nine innings. Jr. RHP Matt Buschmann (8.2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, ER) allowed only one run for the first eight innings, but took his first loss in 10 decisions dating to March 2004. Jr. LHP Ryan Mullins was suspended for violating a team rule.

Brett Harker fired four perfect innings of relief, with nine strikeouts, to earn a win and a save in the series. Sr. OF Byron Barber hit .417 with two doubles in the series after missing the midweek game with a hamstring injury. Jr. 1B D.J. Wabick raised his average to .500 and leads the SoCon in that stat as well as RBI, slugging and on-base percentage.

Jr. RHP Anthony Vavaro struck out 13 batters in seven innings for St. John's, but took the loss in allowing two runs on three hits. 1B Dallas Morris delivered an RBI single in the 10th inning Saturday for the win. RHP Kevin Ardoin struck out 11 batters (getting every Minnesota hitter at least once) in seven innings for a no decision. He allowed a run on three hits. Sr. C Justin Morgan tied a school record with five hits and three doubles Friday.

Notes: The 13-game win streak came to a screeching halt with a three-game sweep against Hawaii in a series in which Florida State committed eight errors and struck out 25 times. Soph. CF Shane Robinson did extend his hit streak to 30 games. Michael Hyle allowed 10 of the team's season-high 19 hits and 10 of the season-high 15 runs Thursday. Hawaii scored five runs over the last three innings Friday, including a walk-off single.

Notes: Louisville scored six runs in the first against Soph. RHP Brooks Brown on Sunday and held on to win the series. The Bulldogs left 13 men on base and went 1-2 for the second straight weekend. Soph. 1B Josh Morris registered two homers and four RBI Saturday in the blowout win. He drove in 10 runs on the week. Louisville scored two runs against Jr. RHP Mitchell Boggs with two outs in the ninth inning during the first game Saturday. Despite that, Boggs (1-1, 1.38) could move into the rotation next weekend because of the struggles of Sean Ruthven and Brown, who haven't gotten out of the fourth inning in their last two starts.

Notes: Oregon State has allowed more than three runs four times this year, most recently in its only loss of the weekend, against Pepperdine. In that same game, the Beavers, who entered with five homers on the year, hit three against the Waves. Soph. RHP Dallas Buck struck out eight Northridge batters in eight innings, allowing an unearned run on four hits. He hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 19 innings. Sr. OF Chris Campos went 5-for-6 with three doubles and four RBIs on the weekend. Soph. RHP Jonah Nickerson (7+ IP, 3 H, ER, 6 K) took a no-hitter into the sixth inning Sunday, and a shutout into the eighth.

Seniors Curtis Ledbetter and Brandon Fusilier hit two each that inning to tie an NCAA record. Jr. 3B Alex Gordon went 8-for-12 with two doubles, five walks and eight runs in the series, including 6-for-6 Saturday.

LHP Brad Furnish also went the distance Sunday, striking out six, but came out on the wrong end of the 2-1 score despite allowing three hits and an earned run.

He leads the team with a .429 average. Jr. LHP Jeff Ostrander struck out seven batters in five scoreless innings Sunday. RHP Mike Flye earned his fourth win of the season Saturday by allowing a run on six hits over five innings.

The Red Raiders were the rally makers Saturday, scoring nine times in the sixth inning to erase a 9-3 deficit against UC Irvine. They piled up 22 hits, including five from Jr. 3B Joey Callendar and four from Sr. SS Cameron Blair.
