Take a quick look back at last week's games and a first glance at the upcoming games for the Top 25:

1. Cal State Fullerton
Last week: 3-1. Overall: 36-12, 13-2 in Big West. (7-5 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Fullerton has won 10 of its last 11 games. The Titans got out-hit in each game of the series, but enjoyed excellent pitching performances from LHPs Ricky Romero (7.1 IP, 9 H, ER) and Scott Sarver (7 IP, 7 H, ER) in the bookend games. Soph. SS Blake Davis went 6-for-12 in the series, including 3-for-4 Sunday.

2. Tulane
Last week: 4-0. Overall: 42-8, 19-5 in C-USA. (9-2 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Tulane became the first team in the country to reach 40 wins (outracing Louisiana-Lafayette by mere hours) and tied a school record for the quickest run to 40 (48 games). The Green Wave batted .395 with a .537 slugging percentage on the week as the bats remained potent. Jr. RHP/DH Micah Owings homered and drove in eight runs on the week while also recording nine strikeouts over six innings Friday to earn the win.

3. Oregon State
Last week: 4-0. Overall: 36-8, 14-4 in Pac-10. (6-5 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Oregon State stands 28 games over .500. it had never been better than 26 games above the break-even point before. Jr. CF Jacoby Ellsbury collected seven runs and 10 hits on the week, including two four-hit games against UCLA to raise his average to .446. He set the school runs record Sunday and tied a record with three doubles in that game. Soph. RHP Dallas Buck (8 IP, 4 H, ER, 2 BB, 8 K) earned the win Friday. Soph. LHP Kevin Gunderson set OSU records for career (13) and season (10) saves Friday.

4. Miami
Last week: 3-0. Overall: 36-11-1, 17-6-1 in ACC. (6-5-1 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Soph. C Eddy Rodriguez drove in the game-winning run Sunday on his 10th hit of the weekend. He homered twice and drove in four runs in the series. Jr. RHP Cesar Carrillo improved to 11-0 (23-0 career) by allowing an earned run on five hits over nine innings Friday. He recorded 10 strikeouts and didn't allow a walk. Fr. 2B Walter Diaz missed Friday's game with an illness.

5. Texas
Last week: 2-2. Overall: 39-11, 14-9 in Big 12. (13-6 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Texas posted a .500 record for the second straight week. The Longhorns struggled to score in the first two games before exploding for a season-high 16 runs in the finale, led by three hits and two RBI each from Sr. SS Seth Johnston and Soph. CF Drew Stubbs. Soph. RHP Randy Boone (7.1 IP, 8 H, 2 ER) took a tough-luck loss in the second game.

6. Nebraska
Last week: 2-1. Overall: 39-10, 14-7 in Big 12. (7-4 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Nebraska won its fourth straight league series to move within a game of Baylor for first place. Nebraska recorded two comeback victories thanks to a bullpen that hasn't allowed an earned run since April 23, a span of 34.2 innings. Jr. 3B Alex Gordon enjoyed his first career four-hit game Saturday. LF Jesse Boyer ended Sunday's game with his first career home run.

7. Georgia Tech
Last week: 2-1. Overall: 34-13, 18-6 in ACC. (6-1 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Georgia Tech's big bats came out only Saturday as the Yellow Jackets rallied for three ninth-inning runs to force extras Friday and were shut out at home Sunday for the first time since 1998. The pitching, meanwhile, proved strong. Soph. LHP Ryan Turner (5.1 IP, 7 H, R) took a tough loss Sunday after Soph. RHP Blake Wood allowed an earned run over seven innings Saturday. Jr. RF Jeremy Slayden homered and drove in four runs Saturday.

8. Arizona
Last week: 3-0. Overall: 32-15, 12-3 in Pac-10. (7-6 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Arizona slashed through UVSC. Jrs. Trevor Crowe and Brad Boyer opened Friday's game with back-to-back triples and both added two more on the weekend. Jr. C Nick Hundley hit two home runs in the series to take the team lead with 12. Jr. RHP John Meloan allowed five hits in eight innings Friday to combine with Brad Mills for the school's sixth shutout on the year.

9. Tennessee
Last week: 3-0. Overall: 35-14, 15-8 in SEC. (12-5 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Tennessee won its sixth SEC series in eight tries to move a half-game ahead of Florida for the league's best record. Fr. catcher J.P. Arencibia battled through strep throat and a triple-digit fever to bat .462-1-5 in the series, breaking Todd Helton's freshman home run record with No. 12 Friday before scoring the game-winner Saturday and collecting three hits Sunday. Jr. RHP Luke Hochevar tied a career best with 13 strikeouts over eight innings Friday, allowing four hits.

10. Baylor
Last week: 1-0. Overall: 31-17, 15-6 in Big 12. (11-3 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Baylor scored four runs in the final five innings Tuesday as Paul Witt went 3-for-3 with two RBI. The Bears then took time off for exams.

11. Florida
Last week: 1-3. Overall: 32-15, 15-9 in SEC. (9-9 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Florida lost its second straight SEC series to drop a half-game behind Tennessee in the league race. It has lost five of its last seven games overall. Sophs Adam Davis and Matt LaPorta drove in three runs each Sunday as the Gators salvaged the final game of the series. Davis tallied seven hits in the series and is batting .415 over his last 14 games. Jr. RHP Alan Horne struck out 12 batters in nine innings Saturday, holding Arkansas to four hits in a no decision.

12. Long Beach State
Last week: 1-2. Overall: 33-16, 11-4 in Big West. (6-3 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Long Beach lost its five-game win streak in dropping a series to UCSB for the second straight year. Jr. LHP Cesar Ramos (3.1, 10 H) and Jr. RHP Marco Estrada (5 IP, 5 H, 3 HRs … first three of the year) each allowed a career-worst seven runs as the Dirtbags yielded 17 in the series, the most this year. Fr. 1B Brandon Godfrey returned after missing 10 games for violating team rules. He collected a homer and four RBI in the series.

13. Alabama
Last week: 2-2. Overall: 34-16, 14-10 in SEC. (8-7 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Alabama dropped the series to fall into a tie with LSU for first in the SEC West. Jr. 3B Evan Bush hit a two-run homer in the first inning Saturday. Sr. LHP Brent Carter struck out four batters in 6.2 innings of relief Friday to become Alabama's career strikeouts leader (292), passing Lance Cormier.

14. North Carolina

16. LSU

Notes: LSU has won nine of its last 11 league games to move into a tie for first in the West with Alabama following a series win against a suddenly spunky Kentucky team. Sr. RF Nick Stavinoha hit a three-run homer Friday and extended his hit streak to eight games Sunday. Sr. 1B Blake Gill delivered a two-run double in the eighth Friday to break a 4-4 tie.

17. Florida State
Last week: 4-0. Overall: 41-14, 15-9 in ACC. (2-6 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Florida State became the third member of the 40-win club in 2005 by earning its 24th straight win against Maryland. Sr. LF Gibbs Chapman totaled six hits, seven RBI and two homers in the first two games of the series. Soph. RHP Bryan Henry won his fourth straight start, allowing a run on four hits over seven innings. Jr. LHP Barrett Browning threw just 58 pitches in five innings Saturday, allowing a run on three hits.

18. Arizona State
Last week: 0-1. Overall: 29-18, 10-5 in Pac-10. (10-13 vs. Top 25).
Notes: Arizona State lost for the third time in four games, breaking its 12-game home win streak. UVSC starter Jed Jensen struck out nine batters in seven innings. That's all the Sun Devils did on the week baseball-wise, as they broke for exams afterwards.

19. Louisiana-Lafayette
Last week: 3-2. Overall: 41-11, 13-5 in Sun Belt. (0-0 vs. Top 25).
Notes: The Ragin' Cajuns became the second team to reach 40 wins (reaching the mark hours after Tulane on Friday) and tied the best 50-game start in school history. They also earned their first series win at New Mexico State. ULL set a school record with 27 hits Friday, five of which came off the bat of Sr. 3B Dallas Morris, who contributed two home runs and five RBI. SS Micah Cockrell and 2B Justin Merendino each clubbed grand slams in the series.

20. Missouri

Notes: Missouri has lost six of its last eight games. Soph. RHP Max Scherzer struck out nine batters Friday while throwing Missouri's first complete game of the season. He allowed four hits. Jr. 1B Derek Chambers drove in both runs Friday and went 3-for-5 Sunday to extend his hit streak to seven games.

21. Stanford

Notes: Stanford built a 7-0 lead Friday before allowing five unearned runs, all charged to Jr. RHP Jeff Gilmore over his seven innings of work. Travis Howell's squeeze bunt brought home the game winner Saturday for California. Jr. LHP Mark Romanczuk worked into the 10th inning in that game, allowing three hits and a run.

22. Mississippi

Notes: Jr. LHP Eric Fowler (8 IP, 4 H, ER) and Jr. RF Brian Pettway (HR , 3 RBI) helped Ole Miss salvage the final game of the series, though a series win would have pulled the Rebels into a tie for first place in the SEC West. Pettway homered in each game of the series and has 16 for the year.

Notes: Exams limited the Trojans to one game. Soph. RHP Ian Kennedy (6 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K) extended his scoreless streak to 18.1 innings and is 6-0, 1.01 with 65 strikeouts in his last 44.2 innings, covering six starts. RHP Brett Bannister recorded the game's final two outs in his first appearance since March 25 (inflamed elbow).

25. St. John's
Last week: 4-0. Overall: 33-13, 16-4 in Big East. (0-0 vs. Top 25).
Notes: St. John's has won six straight and 23 of its last 27 games. It became the third team to sweep Notre Dame in a three-game Big East series. Jr. RHP Craig Hansen recorded two saves and a win in the ND series, as well as a save on Tuesday. He pitched six scoreless innings on the week with eight strikeouts. Sr. catcher Joe Burke totaled six hits and six RBI on the week. Soph. RHP Anthony Sullivan recorded wins Monday and Sunday, throwing 14 total innings and allowing but one unearned run.

Notes: A winless week (and season-long four-game losing skid) means South Carolina has lost three of its last four SEC series. The Gamecocks hadn't been swept since 2003 … at Tennessee. Sr. RHP Aaron Rawl (7.1 IP, 3 H, 3 R) lost a taut battle against Luke Hochevar on Friday. Jr. RF Mark Stanley broke his right index finger Friday and is out indefinitely.
