1. Cal State Fullerton

Overall: 26-8, 5-1 in Big West (2-3 vs. Top 25)
Weekend Series: 8-2
Notes: Fullerton has won 17 of its last 19 games. Sophomore RHP Wes Roemer threw eight scoreless innings Friday, and fellow sophomore RHP Adam Jorgenson threw 4.2 scoreless innings of relief in the series, earning a win after 3.2 innings Sunday. Senior 2B Red Turner has nine hits in his last 18 at-bats, raising his average to a team-best .371.

2. Rice

Notes: Rice has won 10 straight games, thanks to some late-inning clutch hits. Sophomore OF Chad Lembeck homered in the eighth inning Friday to give the Owls a win, while sophomore 1B Joe Savery (who didn't pitch for the second straight week; he was fatigued at Tulane and was feeling ill this week) came through with a pinch-hit RBI single in the eighth inning Saturday.

3. North Carolina

Weekend Series: 6-1
Notes: Sophomore RHP Andrew Carignan worked four innings on the weekend, with hitless efforts to notch saves in the bookend games. He allowed two hits and his only earned run of the year Saturday to take the loss. Sophomore 3B Reid Fronk went 6-for-10 in the series, scoring six runs. He hit two homers and drove in four Sunday. Fronk's on an 11-game hit streak and has recorded multiple hits in the last six of those games. Sophomore C Benji Johnson and freshman C Tim Federowicz also hit two homers in the series, as UNC hit nine longballs at Miami.

Notes: Sophomore 2B Tony Thomas Jr. hit a grand slam as part of a five-RBI day Sunday. His 34 RBI already have surpassed his 2005 total. Junior 3B Ryne Malone and sophomore RF Jack Rye both hit their eighth homers of the year in the series. Junior RHP Bryan Henry threw seven scoreless innings Friday.

Notes: Clemson has won 13 of its last 15 games. Junior 1B Andy D'Alessio hit a grand slam and drove in nine runs on the week. He's on a 10-game hit streak and has eight homers and 35 RBI in his last 15 games. Senior RHP Josh Cribb held Maryland to six hits and struck out nine batters in a complete game Friday.

Notes: Junior RF Luke Gorsett had three hits, a homer and three RBI Friday, a two-run double in the 13th inning Saturday and another homer and three RBI Sunday. But he didn't do much else. Senior C Jeff Christy delivered a career-high four hits Sunday as Nebraska scored a season-high 13 runs.

7. South Carolina

Notes: South Carolina lost consecutive games and a series for the first time all year, and lost a home series to Alabama for the first time ever. Freshman SS Reese Havens delivered a game-winning RBI double Friday and went 5-for-9 on the weekend. Junior LHP Arik Hempy had season-ending Tommy John surgery before the series.

8. Texas

Notes: Junior OF Carson Kainer tied career-bests with four hits and five RBI Sunday as Texas rallied back from three different deficits to earn a series sweep. Kainer finished the weekend with 11 hits and nine RBI. Junior CF Drew Stubbs got a career high four hits and scored four times in the finale. Stubbs and freshman Kyle Russell each homered in the series and are tied for the team lead with eight.

9. Alabama

Notes: A week after taking two of three against then-No. 1 Mississippi State, Alabama does the same at South Carolina, earning its first-ever series win in Columbia (no, not the country). Junior RHP Bernard Robert (7 IP, 6 H, 4 ER) and freshman RHP Tommy Hunter (7 IP, 3 H, ER) threw seven-inning complete games Sunday in a doubleheader sweep. Senior 3B Matt Downs and senior 2B Evan Bush contributed three hits and three RBI each in the two wins.

Weekend Series: 5-2
Notes: MSU lost its second straight weekend series and is 7-6 following an 18-0 start. Senior SS Thomas Berkery set a school record by extending his hit streak to 28 games and has a hit in all but one game this year. Saturday's game drew 13,617 fans, and the 29,915 who watched the three-game series set an SEC attendance record.

Notes: Oregon State scored six times in the seventh inning against Arizona closer Mark Melancon to win Friday, and junior RHP Jonah Nickerson allowed a pair of solo homers over 5.1 IP Saturday. OSU lost its first home game of the year Sunday. Junior CF Tyler Graham returned to action in the final two games (hamstring), collecting three hits and making two acrobatic catches.

12. Arkansas

Notes: Arkansas bounced back to win the series after David Price rang up 17 strikeouts against them Friday. Sophomore LHP Nick Schmidt struck out 10 Saturday, his fourth straight double-digit K performance. Sophomore C Brian Walker hit a solo homer in the top of the ninth Saturday to give Arkansas a 4-3 lead. Junior 1B Danny Hamblin hit a grand slam Sunday to give the Hogs all the runs they needed.

13. Arizona State

Notes: Like Arkansas, Arizona State bounced back to win its series after getting dominated in the opener. Tim Lincecum (CG, 2 H, 12 K) did the dominating here. Freshman C Preston Paramore keyed Saturday's win with five RBI, while a three-run homer by junior RF Colin Curtis helped ASU come back from a 6-2 deficit Sunday.

14. Georgia Tech

Notes: Tech survives another shaky weekend on the mound and comes away with a series win by winning a Sunday doubleheader. Sophomore 1B/C/RHP Matt Wieters rang up five hits, including a homer, and seven RBI in the two wins and also pitched a perfect inning to save the clincher.

Notes: ODU blew two three-run leads as its 18-game win streak ended on a walk-off homer Friday. The Monarchs didn't panic and started a new streak with a doubleheader sweep Sunday. Junior CF Jimmy Miles singled home the game-winner in the opener before freshman RHP Dan Hudson threw a five-hit, complete-game shutout in the nightcap.

16. North Carolina State

Notes: Five N.C. State batters recorded two hits Friday as the Wolfpack erased a 6-1 deficit. Sophomore 2B Ramon Corona had two hits and two RBI in that one before racking up five hits and five RBI in Sunday's shellacking. Sophomore RHP Eryk McConnell threw seven scoreless innings in the finale.

17. Oklahoma

Notes: A day after Jason Meyer limited Oklahoma to one hit, Senior RHPs Stephen Guerra (8 IP) and Will Savage (3 IP) combined to hold A&M to two hits and OU won on a Kody Kaiser RBI double. OU leads the Big 12 with five shutouts. Senior RHP Daniel McCutchen struck out a career-best 13 batters Friday in a hard-luck complete-game loss. Coach Sunny Golloway missed Friday's game and sophomore RHP Ryan Mottern missed the entire series after both were ejected for Mottern's throwing at a batter in an April 2 win against Texas.

Notes: Sophomore LHP David Price struck out a career-high 17 batters over eight innings Friday, limiting Arkansas to a run on three hits. Freshman 3B Pedro Alvarez homered in the win, his fourth longball in four games. Arkansas homers proved the difference in the rest of the series, with one breaking a 3-3 ninth-inning tie Saturday before Danny Hamblin's grand slam proved the difference Sunday.

Notes: Kentucky is off to its best start since the SEC expanded to 12 teams. The series win against Florida was the first since 1999 and the first in Lexington since 1994. Junior C Sean Coughlin hit .757 with four doubles, a homer and seven RBI in the series, and he delivered a walk-off single in the opener.

20. Southern California

Junior RHP Ian Kennedy went 10 innings Friday (5 H, ER, BB, 8 K), a game the Trojans won when junior CF Danny Perales got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Kennedy, freshman RHP Ryan Cook and freshman LHP Tommy Milone have a 2.36 ERA in nine conference games.

Notes: College of Charleston has won 17 of its last 19 games and its last 25 SoCon series. Junior 1B Graham Maiden went 7-for-9 in Sunday's doubleheader with a homer, two doubles and six RBI. Sophomore RHP Danny Meszaros improved to 6-0, with a 1.92 ERA on Friday (7.1 IP, 4 H, R, 0 ER, 11 K).

Notes: Senior 3B Zach Daeges reached base in 10 of his 15 plate appearances in the series. He stole home in the opener and drove in four runs in the finale. Sophomore CF John Nowaczyk set career highs with four hits and three RBI in the second game and tied a school record with three triples. Creighton trailed 8-2 Sunday before taking a 13-11 lead and giving that back in the ninth inning, as it couldn't close out the sweep.

Notes: Sophomore RHP Matt Couch earned one-inning saves in the first two games before throwing nine innings of relief Sunday. He struck out 11 in that appearance, allowing five hits before finally yielding his only run of the weekend in his 11th inning of work. Freshman LHP Brian Matusz (8 IP, 4 H, 7 K) dominated Friday. Junior C Jordan Abruzzo rang up three hits, three RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's win.

Notes: Baylor earned its first sweep of the year and first-ever sweep of Oklahoma State. Senior C Zach Dillon recorded at least one hit in all four games on the week, driving in seven runs and scoring three more. He has reached home safely in 17 straight games and 53 of his last 54. Senior RHP Ryan LaMotta threw a complete-game shutout Friday, allowing three hits. The series drew 10,516 fans, the fourth-largest three-date total in Baylor Ballpark history.

Notes: Junior RHP Heath Rollins threw a two-hit shutout Friday, after freshman RHP Alex Wilson and freshman RHP Jason Franzblau held Wake Forest to one hit Wednesday. Junior CF Tommy Lentz had five hits in Sunday's doubleheader. Winthrop came back from an 8-0 deficit in the first game of the DH to lead 13-11, but Wilson couldn't hold the lead in a relief appearance. He started and won the final game of the day, earning three decisions on the week.

24. Kansas

Notes: Senior RHP Don Czyz saved both Kansas wins and leads the nation with 12, which is a school record. His 112th appearance broke the Big 12 record held by Zane Carlson (Baylor). Senior Jared Schweitzer missed the series after injuring his shoulder Wednesday, but senior CF Matt Baty returned to action after missing 18 games following an outfield collision. He hit .357 on the week.
