Long Beach State won Friday by pushing across a run in the 11th inning without the benefit of a hit. Junior CF Tyler Henley was dropped from the leadoff spot to the nine-hole Saturday, and he responded with a pair of hits, while sophomore 2B Aaron Luna tripled, homered and drove in four. The starting pitching continues to do its part as well, as senior RHP Bryan Henry (6 IP, 1 ER, 6 H), senior RHP Michael Hyde (5 IP, 0 R, 1 H) and junior RHP Ryan Strauss (6 IP, 1 ER, 5 H) took care of business against the Pride.

Then on Saturday, Rustich entered in the eighth with a 5-4 lead, allowed the inherited runner to score from third base, then allowed two more runs to score on two walks and two singles. UCLA retook the lead in the bottom of the inning on a grand slam by sophomore SS Brandon Crawford. Crawford went 8-for-15 with 8 RBI on the week. The Bruins didn't need Rustich on Friday, as senior RHP Tyson Brummett went the distance, allowing just a run on six hits while striking out nine.
