Freddy's younger brother signs with George Mason
FAIRFAX, Va. -- Fro Adu, the brother of Major League Soccer star Freddy Adu, has signed a national letter of intent with George Mason University.
Adu will be 16 when he graduates in June from Georgetown Preparatory School, where he has played four years of varsity soccer. He is also a member of the United States national under-17 team.
"Fro has excellent athletic ability, soccer intelligence and is a great fit for Mason's style of play," said Patriots coach Greg Andrulis. "We expect Fro to make an immediate impact on Mason's soccer program."
His brother, Freddy, became the youngest player in MLS history at age 14 when D.C. United chose him No. 1 overall in the 2004 draft. Freddy Adu was traded in December to Real Salt Lake.
