Rooney's two goals return RedHawks back to nest
MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Joe Rooney scored two goals early in the second period, and Cory Schneider made 37 saves to help Boston College advance to the Frozen Four with a 4-0 victory over Miami of Ohio on Sunday in the Northeast Regional final.
Kyle Kucharski and Benn Ferriero also scored for the Eagles, 28-11-1 after their 12th straight victory. Miami of Ohio finished the season 24-14-4.
Boston College will face the Minnesota-North Dakota winner in the national semifinals on April 5 in St. Louis. Maine will play Michigan State in the other semifinal.
