OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma State's Courtney Totte was selected the USA Softball National Player of the Week after compiling a .750 batting average and helping the Cowgirls finish the weekend with four wins.

Totte helped lead the Cowgirls to their first conference sweep of the season over Iowa State. In a Sunday double header against ISU, Totte went 5-for-7 with eight RBI. She had a 4-for-4 performance in the first game with a two-run homer and a grand slam to tie the single game record at OSU with six RBI. It's the second time this season she has had six RBIs in a game. She went 1-for-3 in the final game with two runs batted in.

The senior catcher went 6-for-8 with two home runs, nine RBIs and had a slugging percentage of 1.625. Totte started off the week by setting the single season RBI record at OSU by recording her 52nd with an RBI double against Wichita State.

"I was in shock for a minute. I know I had a good weekend, but to be considered National Player of the Week is a big honor. There are a lot of good players in the power conferences so this is certainly an honor and something I am very proud of," said Totte of her first-time honor. "This year has definitely been better than my previous years. I want to give credit to our new coaching staff who has helped motivate me and push me to my fullest potential. That starts with [coach Rich Wieligman] all the way down to our strength staff. I have come with a new approach to the plate, which has helped boost my confidence."

"Courtney has done a great job with runners in scoring position all year long. She has put together some quality at bats and gotten some big hits for us," said Wieligman. "This is a great honor for Courtney, and it also helps bring our program national recognition."

For the season Totte is now batting .439 with 11 home runs, 60 RBIs and 15 doubles for a .846 slugging percentage.
