Junior RHP Danny Rosen saved Friday's win and then worked two perfect innings to save Saturday's victory, striking out three. Junior OF Jack Rye (1-for-3, 3 RBI) powered the offense in that one. Senior RHP Robert Woodard (7 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 K) pitched well Friday, but he failed to pick up his school record-breaking 31st career win as the Heels managed just six hits in support of him. Freshman RHP Alex White (4.2 IP, 4 R, 3 ER) continued his recent string of subpar outings, and UNC's attempt to come back from an early 5-0 deficit fell just short. Junior OF Seth Williams (4-for-6) paced UNC's 20-hit barrage Sunday in support of junior RHP Luke Putkonen (5.2 IP, 4 ER). Freshman 1B Dustin Ackley went 8-for-17 on the week and leads the nation with a .467 average.

Rain caused Saturday's game to be made up as part of a doubleheader Sunday, and Canham provided the heavy artillery in both ends of the twin bill, hitting a grand slam in each. Three of his eight homers this year have been grand slams. His first on Sunday came as part of a seven-run fourth inning in support of junior LHP Joe Paterson (6.1 IP, 2 ER). Canham's second slam was a pinch-hit shot in the fifth inning of Game 2, helping freshman RHP Jorge Reyes (6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K) get a win in his first career weekend start. Sunday's second game was the fifth time Oregon State has shut out an opponent this year.

Notes: Junior RHP Harris Honeycutt started his career a perfect 15-0 but has lost his last two starts. South Carolina's defense didn't do him any favors Friday, as he allowed six runs (just two earned) over six innings of work. The Gamecocks managed just three hits and did not score against Lance Lynn on Saturday, making a hard-luck loser out of junior LHP Arik Hempy (7 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K). The USC bats woke up in Sunday's slugfest, led by sophomore 1B Justin Smoak (2-for-4, 2B, HR, 4 RBI), and the Gamecocks broke a 9-9 tie with single runs in the eighth and ninth innings.
