Notes: The Bruins fell out of first place in the Pac-10 after a tough three-game sweep at Arizona State. UCLA stormed back from a 7-1 deficit Friday with 13 runs over the fourth through sixth innings, but senior RHP Tyson Brummett (6.2 IP, 14 H, 12 R, 8 ER) and two relievers failed to hold the lead. Sophomore LHP Tim Murphy (8 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 5 BB, 14 K) was untouchable to everyone by Matt Spencer on Saturday, but junior RHP Brant Rustich couldn't close it out, allowing two runs in the ninth. Freshman LHP Gavin Brooks (5.1 IP, 9 H, 9 ER) couldn't hold a 7-0 lead through four innings Sunday, though freshman RHP Charles Brewer (2.1 IP, 2 H, 2 ER) took the loss in his second appearance of the season. Sophomore SS Brandon Crawford (3-for-5, HR, 5 RBI) paced UCLA's offense in that one.
