Overall: 46-10, 22-8 in SEC (7-4 vs. Top 25).
Notes: With Thursday's win, Vanderbilt clinched the SEC regular-season championship for the first time in school history. Junior LHP David Price (8.2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 15 K) broke his own single-season strikeout record (155, set last year) with Thursday's tour de force performance, improving to 10-1, 2.76 with 164 strikeouts and 29 walks in 114 innings. Freshman LHP Mike Minor (7.2 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K) followed with a strong outing Friday, picking up his first win since April 21 against Tennessee. 2. Rice
Last Week: 4-0. Weekend Series: 10-1.
Overall: 45-11, 22-2 in CUSA (6-5 vs. Top 25).
Notes: In its second year in C-USA, Rice tied the conference records it set a year ago for win percentage (.917), fewest losses (two) and most series won (eight). It won the regular-season crown by 7.5 games, the largest margin in league history. The Owls have won 18 straight games, the longest active streak in the nation and the fourth-longest streak this season. Their overall record is just a game behind their mark at the conclusion of the regular season last year, when they were ranked No. 1. The Owls have won 12 consecutive conference championships (tournament or regular-season) in three different leagues since 1996. The last time Rice lost a regular-season conference series at home was April of 2001 against Nevada. How's that for a barrage of factoids? Sophomore 2B Aaron Luna paced Rice's offense on the week, going 7-for-14 with six RBIs and five runs scored. Junior LHP Cole St. Clair worked 1.2 perfect innings Friday to pick up his school-record 18th career save. On the season, St. Clair has five saves and a 1.93 ERA with an 18-3 K-BB ratio in 14 innings.

They also matched the school record for regular-season victories. UNC took advantage of three late Maryland errors to break a 3-3 tie in Thursday's opener. UNC's 16-hit attack Friday was led by junior OF Reid Fronk (3-for-4, 2 HR, 2 RBI) and junior SS Josh Horton (2-for-5, HR, 3 RBI), helping freshman RHP Alex White (7 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 7 K) win for the first time since April 7. Notes: Virginia finished a game behind UNC in the ACC's Coastal Division and will enter the conference tournament as the No. 3 seed. The Cavaliers reached the 40-win plateau for the fourth straight season on Thursday, when sophomore RHP Jacob Thompson (7.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 8 K) pitched well in a no-decision and UVa won on a 10th-inning RBI single by sophomore 2B David Adams (2-for-4, 3 RBI). Rain disrupted the rest of the series, raining out Friday's game and delaying the start of Saturday's scheduled doubleheader long enough that the final game was canceled. Senior LHP Casey Lambert (4 IP, 2 H, 1 ER) picked up the win in his first start of the season Saturday, with help from freshman SS Tyler Cannon (3-for-5, 4 RBI, first career HR).

Overall: 40-16, 17-13 in SEC (5-5 vs. Top 25).
Notes: The Gamecocks seized the No. 3 seed in the SEC tournament in dramatic, improbable fashion. There was nothing dramatic about Thursday's win, as USC got a strong outing from sophomore RHP Mike Cisco (8 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K) and two homers from junior 2B Travis Jones (3-for-4, 6 RBI, 4 R) in a blowout. Notes: Not only were the Aggies swept by the rival Longhorns, they fell to fifth place in the conference and likely fumbled any opportunity to host a regional, barring a run through the conference tournament. Senior RHP Kyle Nicholson (6.1 IP, 4 ER) and the A&M bullpen couldn't hold a 4-1 lead Friday, as Texas scored two runs in the seventh and two more in the ninth. Junior LHP David Newmann (6.1 IP, 2 ER) pitched well in a no-decision Saturday, and Texas pushed across the go-ahead run in the eighth. Overall: 36-16, 8-13 in Pac-10 (7-5 vs. Top 25).
Notes: The defending national champs are in serious peril of missing out on the postseason. In dropping their third consecutive Pac-10 series, the Beavers fell to eighth place in the nine-team league. Junior RHP Mike Stutes (7 IP, 10 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 9 K) lost his third straight start Friday. The Beavers were held to two hits by ASU lefty Josh Satow on Saturday, wasting a strong start by junior LHP Joe Paterson (8.1 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 5 K). The OSU offense was even quieter Sunday, mustering just one hit against another lefty, Brian Flores.
