In Friday's nightcap, Arizona's bats mustered just four hits against Tommy Milone and two relievers. It marked the first time since 1969 that Arizona has been shut out in back-to-back games. The Wildcats made six errors in the two losses and have 33 on the season.

Marshall scored eight in the second Saturday to chase junior RHP Matt Langwell (1.1 IP, 6 ER), but sophomore OF Jared Gayhart (4-for-5, 3 R, 6 RBI) hit a three-run homer in the fifth that gave Rice a 10-8 lead it would not relinquish. The Longhorns hardly missed Russell (batting .236 with one homer) on Thursday, when junior OF Jordan Danks (4-for-7, 2B, 3B, R, 5 RBI) and junior 2B Michael Torres (5-for-6, HR, 3 R, 5 RBI) led a 22-hit bonanza. Notes: Auburn, Ala., proved to be Upset City this weekend, as Kentucky's season-opening 19-game winning streak came to an end. It was one game shy of tying the longest in school history, and the Wildcats lost their first series of the year. Junior LHP Chris Rusin (8 IP, 11 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 10 K) was outdueled by Grant Dayton and two Auburn relievers in Friday's loss. Kentucky took a 4-1 lead on sophomore OF Troy Frazier's three-run homer in the top of the fifth Saturday, but junior RHP Scott Green (4.2 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, 5 BB, 4 K) gave the lead back in the bottom of the inning, and Auburn took the lead for good the next inning against senior LHP Andrew Albers (3.1 IP, 3 ER).
