Baseball America takes a look at how the Top 25 teams fared in the past week:

1. Miami
Last Week: 3-1.
Overall: 36-5, 20-2 in ACC. (2-1 vs. Top 25).
Weekend Series: 10-0.
Notes: Miami swept Virginia to claim its 13th straight weekend series, dating back to last May, and extend its lead in the ACC's Coastal Division to 2.5 games over second-place North Carolina. Miami pitching held the Cavaliers to three runs on just 13 hits in three games. Junior CF Blake Tekotte's sixth-inning RBI single Friday gave the Hurricanes all the runs they would need, as freshman LHP Chris Hernandez (8 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 11 K) outdueled Virginia ace Pat McAnaney (8 IP, 6 H, 1 ER). Sophomore LHP Eric Erickson (5 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K) pitched well in a no-decision Saturday, and junior 2B Jemile Weeks doubled to lead off the 10th before scoring the winning run on an error. Sophomore 3B Mark Sobolewski (3-for-5, 2B, HR, 2 RBI) paced a 16-hit attack Sunday in support of senior RHP Enrique Garcia (7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K).

Last Week: 4-1.

Weekend Series: 8-0-1.
Notes: The Tar Heels scored comeback victories on Friday and Sunday to win their first series of the year against a ranked opponent. Sophomore RHP Alex White (5.1 IP, 1 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 6 K) and two relievers held Florida State to a season-low four hits Friday, and UNC erased a 3-0 deficit by sending 15 batters to the plate in an 11-run eighth inning. That win extended UNC's winning streak to 12 games, its longest since 2002, but the streak ended Saturday when junior RHP Adam Warren (2.1 IP, 7 H, 5 ER) suffered his first career loss in his 20th decision. Sophomore LHP Brian Moran and senior RHP Rob Wooten combined for 5.1 scoreless innings Sunday in relief of freshman RHP Matt Harvey (4.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 6 BB, 5 K), and UNC didn't get its first hit until the seventh inning, when sophomore 1B Dustin Ackley picked up his seventh hit of the weekend and scored the tying run on sophomore 2B Kyle Seager's RBI single. UNC won in the 10th on sophomore DH Mark Fleury's bases-loaded walk. The Tar Heels are off next week for exams.

Weekend Series: 9-0.
Notes: Stanford won its 12th consecutive weekend series but dropped Sunday's finale against USC to fall into a tie with Arizona State atop the Pac-10 standings. Junior RHP/3B Austin Yount (7.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 1 K) made his second consecutive Friday start and sparkled, while junior 1B Brent Millevile (3-for-4, 2 2B, 3 RBI) led the offense. Eight Cardinal hitters recorded multiple hits in Saturday's blowout, led by junior C Jason Castro (4-for-6, 2 R, 4 RBI, 3B) and sophomore OF Toby Gerhart (2-for-2, 2 HR, 5 RBI). Stanford's 26 runs were the most it has scored since a 28-run outburst in 1983. Senior RHP Erik Davis (6 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 9 K) failed to throw his fifth straight complete game in that one but did improve to 7-1. Sophomore RHP Jeffrey Inman (1 IP, 4 H, 3 ER) had another short outing Sunday, but Stanford rallied with three runs in the bottom of the ninth before Milleville grounded out with the tying run on third to end the game. Castro went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs in that one and is hitting .372/.422/.616 with nine homers and 39 RBIs on the year.

Weekend Series: 8-2.
Notes: The home team has won the Florida State-North Carolina series every year since the Seminoles won in Chapel Hill in 2000, and that trend held this weekend as FSU failed to hold leads on Friday and Sunday. Sophomore LHP Matt Fairel (5.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K) left with a 3-0 lead Friday, but sophomore 3B Stephen Cardullo's two-out error opened the door to UNC's 11-run eighth inning outburst against six Florida State pitchers. Senior 1B Dennis Guinn (4-for-5, 3 2B, 2 R, 3 RBI) led a 19-hit attack Saturday in support of freshman RHP Geoff Parker (5.1 IP, 7 H, 2 ER). The Seminoles got another strong start Sunday, this time from junior RHP Elih Villanueva (9 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K), who held UNC hitless until the seventh. But the Tar Heels tied the score at 1-1 in the seventh and won on a bases-loaded walk by freshman LHP John Gast in the 10th.

Weekend Series: 8-2.
Notes: The Cornhuskers won another conference series -- their third road series win this year -- but dropped Sunday's finale and fell 2.5 games behind surging Texas A&M in the Big 12 standings. Senior RHP Johnny Dorn (7 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 7 K) was solid in a no-decision Friday as the Bears scored two in the bottom of the ninth against junior LHP Dan Jennings to force extra innings, but sophomore OF D.J. Belfonte delivered a game-winning two-run single in the 10th. Senior 2B Jake Opitz (3-for-5, 3 R, 4 RBI, 2B, HR) led a 16-hit barrage Saturday in a game shortened by the run rule, helping senior RHP Thad Weber (7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 4 K) pick up his second complete game of the year. Senior RHP Bobby Bell and senior LHP Cole St.Clair combined to allow just one hit in five scoreless innings of relief Saturday, and freshman SS Rick Hague singled home the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth. Hague and junior C Adam Zornes hit back-to-back homers to break a seventh-inning tie Sunday, when junior RHP Matt Langwell lasted just 3.2 IP, allowing three runs on four hits. The Wildcats rapped out a balanced 13-hit attack Saturday and won despite stranding 16 baserunners. Kentucky made the most of its six hits Sunday, as senior OF Sawyer Carroll's two-run triple in the fifth inning gave senior RHP Greg Dombrowski (7.1 IP, 11 H, 1 ER) all the support he needed.

Overall: 30-10, 17-3 in Big Ten. (0-2 vs. Top 25).
Weekend Series: 5-0-1.
Notes: Michigan's express route to the Big Ten title took a detour, as the Wolverines split four games against last-place Indiana and saw their lead over Purdue shrink to one game.
