1. Miami

Notes: The Hurricanes had a brief reprieve from conference play, sweeping Saint Mary's to run their winning streak to six games and their weekend series winning streak to 14. Led by junior OF Dennis Raben (7-for-13, 5 R, 2B, HR, 6 RBI), junior 1B Yonder Alonso (4-for-6, 6 R, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 3 BB) and junior OF Adan Severino (5-for-9, 2 2B, 6 RBI), Miami hit .378 in the series while outscoring Saint Mary's 30-9. Freshman LHP Chris Hernandez (5 IP, 5 H, 1 ER) improved to 8-0 on Friday, and sophomore LHP Eric Erickson (7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K) had his best outing of the year Saturday, as Miami pitching yielded a season-low two hits. The Canes have thrown three shutouts in their past six games.

Notes: The Sun Devils are 29-3 at home and just 6-5 on the road, but they went to UCLA and powered their way to a hard-fought series victory, slugging 10 home runs in three games even with junior 1B Ike Davis still sidelined by a strained rib muscle. Arizona State fell behind 5-0 through three innings Friday before tying the score with three in the eighth and exploding for five more in the ninth; leading the onslaught was sophomore OF Jason Kipnis (3-for-5, 2 HR, 4 RBI). The ASU bats produced just one extra-base hit Saturday in support of senior LHP Josh Satow (4.1 IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 5 BB, 1 K), who fell to 5-3, 5.59. Ten of Arizona State's 11 runs Sunday came via the long ball, as the Devils mashed a season-high six homers, including two by junior 3B Brett Wallace (3-for-5, 3 R, 4 RBI). The back-and-forth affair was tied 7-7 heading into ASU's four-run ninth, which was highlighted by junior C Petey Paramore's three-run homer to right field. Wallace now leads ASU in batting (.404) and on-base percentage (.534), and his 15 homers are tied for the team lead with Davis.

Sophomore LHP Matt Fairel (7 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 5 BB, 7 K) was solid in a no-decision Saturday, and the Seminoles scored all nine of their runs from the eighth through 10th innings, though senior RHP Ryan Strauss (1.1 IP, 5 H, 5 ER) blew a two-run lead in the ninth and nearly blew a four-run lead in the 10th. Florida State pounded out 17 hits, including four home runs, on Sunday in support of junior RHP Elih Villanueva (7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K).

Notes: The 'Huskers improved to 7-1 in one-run games this year by taking a pair of such contests against Louisiana-Lafayette. After Friday's game was rained out, senior RHP Johnny Dorn (7.2 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 11 K) was very strong in a no-decision in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, and Nebraska cobbled together a run in the eighth to break a 3-3 tie. Junior RHP Aaron Pribanic (6 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K) was solid in the nightcap but was in line for the loss until senior 2B Jake Opitz delivered an RBI single and scored the tying run on an error in the ninth to force extra innings. Relievers Mike Nesseth and Erik Bird combined to strike out 11 over 5.2 scoreless innings of relief, setting the stage for senior C Mitch Abeita's game-winning RBI single in the 14th.

Notes: After two straight weeks of perfect midweek play, the Cardinal's midweek blues returned with a pair of losses, but Stanford recovered to win its 13th consecutive weekend series -- albeit a two-game series against San Jose State. Junior C Jason Castro (1-for-4, 2B, 4 RBI) and junior 1B Brent Milleville (4-for-5, HR, 2 RBI) led a 15-hit attack Saturday in support of junior RHP/3B Austin Yount (7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER), who has allowed just one earned run in 19 innings over his last three outings since moving into the weekend rotation. Senior RHP Eric Davis (5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 4 K) followed with another solid outing Sunday, but the Spartans tied the score at 6-6 with four runs in the bottom of the sixth, setting the stage for Stanford's 11-run ninth inning, during which it sent 15 batters to the plate.

The Toreros mustered just five hits Friday against Waves ace Nathan Newman and three relievers, as junior LHP Brian Matusz (6 IP, 10 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 9 K) lost for the first time since Opening Day. The rest of the weekend rotation picked him up, as junior LHP/OF Josh Romanski (9 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K) joined Matusz in the nine-win club with a dominating performance in Saturday's blowout, and freshman RHP Kyle Blair (7.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K) made USD's pair of first-inning runs stand up Sunday.

Senior LHP Kirkland Rivers (2 IP, 5 H, 5 ER) started the first game of the Dallas Baptist series Thursday and was hit hard, though senior 3B Dane Carter (3-for-5) led A&M's 11-hit attack in defeat. Carter was one of five Aggies to record two-hit games Friday -- junior OF Brian Ruggiano (2-for-4, 2 HR, 5 RBI) was another -- in support of freshman LHP Brooks Raley (6.2 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 8 K). Redshirt freshman C Kevin Gonzalez (3-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI) hit a two-run single to cap A&M's four-run sixth inning Saturday, and sophomore RHP Clayton Ehlert (3 IP, 2 H, 0 R) picked up the win in relief of freshman RHP Barret Loux (5 IP, 5 H, 4 ER).

Sophomore LHP Andrew Oliver (7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER), sophomore LHP Tyler Lyons (7.2 IP, 10 H, 3 ER) and senior RHP Matt Gardner (5 IP, 8 H, 4 ER) turned in steady starts over the first three games and each picked up wins, before sophomore RHP Tyler Blandford (3 IP, 4 H, 5 R) was hit hard Sunday.

Junior C Bryce Massanari became a father Thursday and delivered a go-ahead RBI single to break a 4-4 tie in the fifth inning Thursday night, as UGa relievers Dean Weaver and Joshua Fields combined to strike out six over 3.2 scoreless innings of relief. On Friday, junior RHP Stephen Dodson (6.1 IP, 6 H, 3 ER) left with the score tied at 3-3, but the Rebels hung six on the Georgia bullpen in the eighth. The Bulldogs pounded out 14 hits and four home runs Sunday in support of junior LHP Nathan Moreau (6 IP, 5 H, 2 ER), though Fields allowed his first earned run of the season in the ninth, ending his streak at 23.2 innings. Junior SS Gordon Beckham homered Thursday and Sunday, giving him 22 longballs on the year, which still leads the nation.

Freshman RHP Daniel Renken (3.2 IP, 9 H, 8 R, 3 ER) was hammered in Saturday's blowout. Seven Titans recorded hits Sunday in support of junior RHP Cory Arbiso (8 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K), who won his ninth straight start.

Junior CF Ollie Linton had two of Irvine's four hits Saturday, including a bunt single in the seventh that led to the game's only run, helping sophomore RHP Bryce Stowell (7.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 8 K) improve to 6-2. Saturday's win was the seventh shutout of the year for the UCI pitching staff. The 'Eaters managed just five hits Sunday in support of tough-luck loser sophomore LHP Daniel Bibona (6.2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 8 K).

Junior 2B Josh Workman, who had missed 14 games with a pulled muscle in his side, returned against Oklahoma and went 7-for-15 with six runs on the week to lead the offense. He had three hits Friday in support of senior LHP Rob Musgrave (9 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 12 K), who improved to 7-1, 2.49. Senior OF Andy Dirks (3-for-4, R, 2 RBI) led a 13-hit attack Saturday in support of junior RHP Aaron Shafer (8 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 11 K), who improved to 8-2, 2.63. Senior OF Jacob Priday (4-for-5, 3 R, 3 RBI, 2 HR) led the onslaught Friday and then went 3-for-5 with a double and a triple Saturday in support of sophomore RHP Kyle Gibson (7 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 5 K). Junior RHP Ian Berger (1.1 IP, 5 H, 4 ER) was hit hard in relief Saturday, continuing his recent struggles. Junior LHP Rick Zagone (7 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K) was solid in a no-decision Sunday, but the Tigers made two errors in the 10th to help the Wildcats scratch across the winning run.

Junior LHP Craig Bennigson (4 IP, 4 R, 2 ER) moved back into the weekend rotation Saturday to modest results, but sophomore OF/RHP Blake Smith delivered a game-winning solo homer in the bottom of the eighth. Senior RHP Alex Rollin (4.1 IP, 8 H, 5 ER) and four relievers were hit hard Sunday, as the Wildcats out-hit the Bears 18-7.

Junior RHP Mike Cisco (3 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 1 ER) had another rough outing Friday, and the Gators poured it on against the Gamecocks bullpen. Junior 3B James Darnell (3-for-4, HR, 4 RBI) delivered a go-ahead two-run single in the seventh inning Saturday to make junior LHP Will Atwood (9 IP, 11 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 7 K) a winner. Senior C Phil Disher (4-for-4, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2B, HR) led the offense Sunday, and senior RHP Nick Godwin (5 IP, 8 H, 3 ER) picked up the win in relief of sophomore RHP Blake Cooper (3.2 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 5 BB).

Senior OF Dominic de la Osa (3-for-3, 2 R, 2 RBI, SB) paced a 14-hit assault Saturday in to help redshirt freshman RHP Caleb Cotham (7 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 6 K) improve to 7-3. Six Commodores posted multiple-hit games in Sunday's slugfest, led by junior 3B Pedro Alvarez (3-for-6, 2 R, RBI), and junior RHP Brett Jacobson entered a ninth-inning jam and nailed down his fourth save of the year.

Junior LHP Eric Surkamp (2 IP, 4 H, 6 ER) was hammered in Saturday's loss, but the 'Pack battled back to tie the score at 6-6 before the Panthers scored three in the ninth to win it. Junior 3B Drew Martin's two-run single highlighted NCSU's three-run fourth Sunday in support of sophomore LHP Alex Sogard (5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K).

Michigan is 18-3 in regular-season games against the Buckeyes since coach Rich Maloney arrived in Ann Arbor in 2003. Junior RHP/DH Zach Putnam (9 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K) improved to 6-0, 2.72 in Friday's win, and senior RHP Chris Fetter (7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K) improved to 8-1, 2.44 in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. Freshman RHP Travis Smith (0.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER) failed to make it out of the first inning for the second straight week in the nightcap, and the Buckeyes broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the seventh. The Wolverines exploded for 15 runs Sunday, their most against Ohio State since 1983, and sophomore LHP Eric Katzman (6.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 4 K) was outstanding in his first career Big Ten start.

Freshman 3B Greg Hopkins (5-for-5, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2B) led a 13-hit attack Saturday in support of senior LHP George Brown (7 IP, 6 H, 3 ER). The Red Storm trailed 5-2 heading into the bottom of the ninth Sunday, but Anninos tied the game with a three-run homer, and junior OF Carlos Del Rosario followed with a walk-off solo shot two batters later.

Notes: The Tigers have won nine in a row, including sweeps of South Carolina and Kentucky and midweek wins over local rivals Tulane and Louisiana-Lafayette. LSU has swept consecutive conference series for the first time in 10 years, and they did it against two ranked teams. The Wildcats were 25-2 at home before LSU swept UK in Lexington. Junior LHP Ryan Verdugo (8 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 7 K) was outstanding in a no-decision Friday, and senior 3B Michael Hollander doubled home a run and then scored another in the 10th. Senior RHP Jared Bradford (4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K) sparkled in relief Saturday, and the Tigers rapped out a balanced 13-hit attack. Junior LHP Chris Rusin (8.2 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K) was outstanding in a no-decision in the first game of Saturday's twin bill, but UK mustered just three hits in support, and junior RHP Scott Green surrendered two runs in the 10th to take the loss. Sophomore LHP James Paxton was yanked after six pitches (all balls) in the nightcap, and the first three arms out of the bullpen allowed nine runs over the first five innings. Senior RHP Greg Dombrowski (6 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 3 ER) left with an 8-5 lead Sunday, but the Tigers scored four runs over the final two innings against senior LHP Andrew Albers.

Junior OF David Sappelt (3-for-4, 3 R, 4 RBI, 2 HR) and senior OF Tommy Baldridge (4-for-5, 2 R) led Coastal's 14-hit attack in Saturday's slugfest. Junior 1B/RHP David Anderson (4.1 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 3 ER) got the start Sunday and took the loss.

Freshman LHP Tanner Robles (1.1 IP, 5 H, 9 ER, 4 BB, 0 K) was even worse Sunday after beating Arizona and Arizona State over his previous two starts, though freshman RHP Greg Peavey (6.2 IP, 6 H, 2 ER) turned in an encouraging relief performance.

Freshman RHP Jake Thompson (6.2 IP, 7 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K) was excellent in a no-decision Sunday, but the Aggies came back with three in the eighth against junior RHP Bryan Shaw.
