Dropped out

Florida State (22)
Last Week: 1-4
Overall: 7-5, 1-2 in ACC (0-0 vs. Top 25)
Weekend Series: 2-1
For the first time since joining the ACC in 1992, Florida State lost its conference-opening series. The Seminoles had been 43-5 in games during the ACC's opening weekend and had swept six straight opening series. The weekend started off all right for FSU, which got a strong start Friday from freshman LHP Sean Gilmartin (8 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 8 K). Florida State's starters -- sophomore RHP Geoff Parker (1.1 IP, 7 H, 9 ER) and sophomore LHP John Gast (3.1 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 5 ER) -- got shelled each of the next two games, and Boston College piled on against the bullpen both days.
