The Anteaters pounded out 16 hits Friday in support of junior LHP Daniel Bibona (8 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 7 K), who has lasted seven or more innings and allowed two or fewer earned runs in eight straight outings. Senior 3B Eric Deragisch hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the ninth inning to propel the Eaters to a win Saturday. Freshman OF Tommy Reyes had three hits Saturday and three more Sunday in support of sophomore RHP Crosby Slaught (7 IP, 6 H, 4 ER). (8-4 vs. Top 25) Weekend Series: 10-2 For the second straight weekend, LSU won a series against a top SEC contender; the Tigers now sit alone in first place overall in the conference, a game ahead of Florida. LSU pounded out 13 hits Friday in support of sophomore RHP Anthony Ranaudo (7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 7 K). Senior RHP Louis Coleman (8 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K) extended his scoreless streak to 17 innings Saturday. Sophomore RHP Austin Ross (4.2 IP, 8 H, 4 ER) fell to 5-6 in Sunday's loss. Last Week: 5-0 Overall: 38-11, 16-5 in Pac-10 (4-4 vs. Top 25) Weekend Series: 10-1 ASU rebounded from a series loss to Oregon State by winning five straight games, including a sweep of Winthrop. Junior C Carlos Ramirez (7-for-12, 9 RBI, 3 2B, 2 HR) and junior OF Jason Kipnis (8-for-14, 8 R, 5 RBI, 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR) led ASU's potent offense on the weekend. The Sun Devils got a strong start Friday from junior RHP Mike Leake (7 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 K) and a gem Sunday from senior RHP Jason Franzblau (9 IP, 7 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K). The Sun Devils did it all without junior LHP Josh Spence, who will likely miss the rest of the season with a strained tendon in the middle finger of his left hand; there's a chance he could pitch out of the bullpen at some point, but the Devils say he definitely will not start again. Last Week: 2-2 Overall: 33-13, 15-6 in CUSA. (9-2 vs. Top 25) Weekend Series: 8-1 The Owls took two of three from Central Florida to remain a game ahead of East Carolina in Conference USA. Rice was shut out Friday despite 10 hits, as the Owls hit into three double plays. Freshman Anthony Rendon (3-for-4, 3 RBI, HR) led an 11-hit attack Saturday in support of junior RHP Ryan Berry (7 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K). Rendon had three more hits Sunday, and junior RHP Mike Ojala (3 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K) was solid in his first start since April 18. Junior C Diego Seastrunk tied the game with a three-run homer in the seventh, then held on to the ball on a collision at home plate to record the game's final out in the ninth. (9-5 vs. Top 25) Weekend Series: 8-3 The Titans have won 13 of their past 15, but they lost Sunday's finale to Cal Poly, ensuring the best they can do is finish tied for the Big West title with UC Irvine. Sophomore RHP Daniel Renken (9 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 10 K) improved to 7-2, 2.35 in Friday's win. Junior OF Josh Fellhauer (3-for-4, 2 R) paced an 11-hit attack Saturday in support of freshman RHP Noe Ramirez (6.2 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K). Freshman RHP Tyler Pill (6.2 IP, 9 H, 6 ER) failed to tie the Fullerton freshman record for wins in a season Sunday, falling to 8-2, 3.61. (11-6-1 vs. Top 25) Weekend Series: 10-2 The Longhorns took two of three from rival Texas A&M to clinch the Big 12 title for the third time in the past four years. Sophomore RHP Chance Ruffin (6.1 IP, 3 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 9 K) was solid in a no-decision Friday, and the Longhorns rallied for three runs in the 10th to win a back-and-forth affair. The Longhorns mustered just three hits Saturday and were shut out by the Aggies for the first time since 1979. Texas scored five unearned runs in the first Sunday and held on to win despite being out-hit 13-5. 7. Georgia Tech
Last Week: 2-1 Overall: 33-12-1, 16-8-1 in ACC (7-5-1 vs. Top 25) Weekend Series: 9-2-1 The Yellow Jackets snapped Florida State's 14-game winning streak Friday and won the series to move into a virtual tie with North Carolina atop the ACC's Coastal Division. Junior 1B Tony Plagman (5-for-5, 4 R, 3 RBI, HR) led a 13-hit attack Friday in support of sophomore RHP Deck McGuire (6 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K). Sophomore RHP Brandon Cumpton (5 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 7 K) moved up to the Saturday starter slot and took a no-decision, as FSU came from behind with three runs in the ninth to win it. Tech returned the favor Sunday, overcoming a one-run deficit to win with two in the ninth. (10-3 vs. Top 25) Weekend Series: 8-3 The Tar Heels lost a series to scuffling rival NC State and fell into a virtual tie with Georgia Tech atop the ACC's Coastal Division. Junior RHP Alex White (6 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 5 BB, 5 K) fell to 7-2 on Friday, as UNC left 12 runners on base. The Tar Heels scored five runs on just three hits Saturday, and senior RHP Adam Warren (5.1 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 7 K) and junior LHP Brian Moran (3.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R) made it stand up. Junior 1B/OF Dustin Ackley, who played center field Saturday and Sunday, had a double, a homer and three RBIs in a loss Sunday. Ackley also had a triple Saturday to give the Tar Heels 25 for the season, breaking a school record established in 1948 and equaled last year. The Bulldogs got to sophomore LHP Drew Pomeranz (5.1 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 11 K) for four runs in the sixth inning Friday. Senior LHP Brett Bukvich (4.1 IP, 8 H, 6 ER) struggled in Saturday's loss. Ole Miss salvaged Sunday's finale using a balanced 11-hit attack and a strong start from junior RHP Phillip Irwin (6.1 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 10 K). Mississippi trails LSU by a game in the SEC West. Freshman LHP/1B Danny Hultzen (5.1 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 2 ER) suffered his first collegiate loss Friday. The Cavaliers stormed back from a 9-3 deficit Saturday with five runs in the eighth and two in the ninth, tying the game on Hultzen's solo homer to lead off the ninth then winning on sophomore OF John Barr's bases-loaded single. Sophomore OF Jarrett Parker (4-for-6, 3 R, 5 RBI, 2B, HR) paced a 13-hit attack Sunday in support of sophomore RHP Robert Morey (7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K). Sophomore RHP Michael Rocha (6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K) picked up the win Friday in relief of junior RHP Stephen Porlier (2 IP, 4 H, 2 ER). Junior 1B Aaron Baker (3-for-4, 2B) led a 12-hit attack Saturday, and junior RHP Chase Anderson (5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER) picked up the win in relief of Junior LHP J.R. Robinson (3 IP, 7 H, 4 ER) as the Sooners broke a 5-5 tie with two in the ninth. Junior RHP Garrett Richards (5.2 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 5 K) took the loss Sunday, as OU mustered just two hits in support. Sophomore RHP Ryan Duke picked up two saves on the weekend and now has 12 on the season, the most by a Sooner since Bucky Buckles recorded 14 for Oklahoma's 1994 national championship team. Texas got to sophomore LHP/OF Brooks Raley (6.1 IP, 9 H, 8 ER) for five runs in the seventh inning Friday and won it with three in the 10th against junior RHP Alex Wilson (3.2 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 2 ER). On Saturday, freshman LHP Ross Hales (9 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 9 K) gave A&M its first shutout against Texas since 1979, and its first win in Austin since 2003. Texas A&M outhit the Horns 13-5 on Sunday but left 12 men on base, and Texas scored all five of its runs -- unearned -- in the first against sophomore RHP Barret Loux (0.2 IP, 2 H, 5 R, 0 ER). Freshman RHP Sean Gilmartin (6 IP, 10 H, 10 R, 8 ER) was lit up in his return to the Friday starter spot. FSU came from behind with three runs in the ninth to win Saturday. Sophomore RHP/OF Mike McGee (5.1 IP, 3 H, 3 ER) was solid in a no-decision Sunday, but the Yellow Jackets scored twice in the ninth to earn a comeback win. Junior RHP D.J. Mauldin (5.2 IP, 8 H, 4 ER) was decent in defeat Friday. The Mustangs left 12 runners on base Saturday, when Fullerton broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the seventh, then added two more in the ninth. Freshman RHP Mason Radeke (8 IP, 9 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 5 K) stymied the Titans on Sunday to help Poly avoid a sweep. Elon's mashing offense is averaging 15.3 runs per game over its past 14 conference games, and the Phoenix have scored 11 or more runs in 13 of the 14 games. They have also plated 11 or more in 18 of their past 21 conference games and are averaging 14 runs per game over that span. Elon won Friday's slugfest on senior OF Pat Irvine's two-run homer in the 11th. The Phoenix produced 27 runs on 26 hits Saturday, then got a strong outing from senior RHP Tom Porter (5.2 IP, 6 H, 2 ER) on Sunday. Junior 2B Adam Duvall (14-for-24, 15 R, 7 RBI, 4 2B, 3 HR in five games) paced the offense on the week, and sophomore OF Phil Wunderlich extended his hitting streak to a career-best 13 games with two hits Sunday. Junior LHP Justin Marks (7 IP, 8 H, 8 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 7 K) benefited from Louisville's 15-hit attack Friday to improve to 8-2. Sophomore C Yasmani Grandal (3-for-5, 6 RBI, HR) paced Miami's 11-hit attack Saturday. Miami managed just four hits Sunday in support of junior RHP David Gutierrez (5 IP, 7 H, 4 ER). 25. Missouri
Last Week: 2-2 Overall: 30-23, 16-11 in Big 12 (11-13 vs. Top 25) Weekend Series: 6-4 Missouri won its fourth straight weekend series and sits in second place in the Big 12. In Friday's win, junior RHP Kyle Gibson (8 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 8 K) improved to 9-3, 3.73 with 115 strikeouts and 15 walks in 92 innings. Senior LHP Scooter Hicks (4.1 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 6 K) got the start and the loss Saturday. Sophomore RHP Nick Tepesch (6.1 IP, 5 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 4 BB, 4 K) earned a no-decision in Sunday's slugfest, as Missouri's bullpen coughed up a five-run lead in the ninth, but the Tigers won on sophomore C Ryan Ampleman's walk-off homer in the bottom of the frame. Georgia's regional hosting ambitions took a dagger to the heart this weekend, as the Bulldogs dropped their third straight series (and second in a row at home) against Vanderbilt. Georgia's losing streak reached eight games before it salvaged Sunday's finale. The Bulldogs mustered just four hits Friday against Vandy freshman Sonny Gray (6 IP, 1 ER) and Jack Armstrong (3 IP, 1 ER), and Georgia senior RHP Trevor Holder (6 IP, 9 H, 8 R, 3 HR, 6 ER) was hit hard; he's given up 17 home runs in 70 innings this season. The Bulldogs were limited to five hits Saturday against Commodores lefty Mike Minor (9 IP, 5 H, 2 E, 2 BB, 12 K), and Dawgs junior LHP Alex McRee (6 IP, 8 H, 7 ER) was knocked around. Georgia scored single runs in each of the final three innings Sunday to pull off a comeback victory and stop the bleeding.
