These SGs could be difference-makers
The top three shooting guards in the 2010 class -- Will Barton (Baltimore/Brewster Academy; committed to Memphis), Reggie Bullock (Kinston, N.C./Kinston; committed to North Carolina) and Dion Waiters (Philadelphia/Life Center Academy; committed to Syracuse) -- are off the board. Although the position is a deep one, with 28 prospects in the ESPNU 100, the available talent is starting to dwindle. Four ESPNU 100 shooting guards are still looking for a college. Here's a look at where they could end up.
Kendrick
Jelan Kendrick, SG, Marietta, Ga./Wheeler
Player rank (position rank): 24 (4)
Considering:

Scouts Inc. says: Kendrick gained notoriety this past summer and deservedly so. He has improved immensely the past year. Due to his wiry frame and extraordinary long arms, his game has a Chris Douglas-Roberts (New Jersey Nets) feel to it. He is quite slick with the ball and is a very smooth scorer. Evaluation | Highlights
Recruiting overview: Kendrick's list is fairly extensive -- going well beyond the six schools listed above -- so it would seem likely that he will make his decision during the late signing period. Although Memphis has a commitment from Barton, Kendrick was on campus this fall for a visit. Kendrick also played some ball with the Memphis Magic Elite AAU squad, which featured Tigers commit Joe Jackson (Memphis/White Station). He has visited Georgetown and could visit Alabama soon. Kendrick also recently took an official visit to Indiana, and Georgia and Georgia Tech are fairly involved.
Zeigler
Trey Zeigler, SG, Mount Pleasant, Mich./Mount Pleasant
Player rank (position rank): 26 (5)
Considering:

Scouts Inc. says: Zeigler has great size and the ability to score from 3 off the catch. He can slash to the rim in transition and from the wing in the half court. He loves to attack the rim along the baseline and has the size and strength to finish in traffic. Zeigler has a great feel for the game and an excellent basketball IQ but must be willing to show his offensive tools each time he takes the floor. Evaluation | Highlights
Recruiting overview: Zeigler has said he plans to wait until the late signing period. Like Kendrick, Zeigler doesn't have a clear list of finalists. His father, Ernie, is the coach at Central Michigan, so the Chippewas could contend for his services. He has taken official visits to Oklahoma and UCLA, where his father was an assistant coach. Of course, he also has been on the campuses of local programs Michigan -- for an official -- and Michigan State.
Coleman
Justin Coleman, SG, Richmond, Va./Louisa County
Player rank (position rank): 32 (7)
Considering:
Scouts Inc. says: Coleman was a big-time riser on the summer circuit; he earned the Surprise Player honor at June's National Basketball Players Association Top 100 Camp. He is an aggressive wing who can score in bunches. He is an above-the-rim finisher in transition and can hit the open 3 with regularity. Coleman has a smooth stroke and shoots with great confidence. Evaluation
Recruiting overview: In the past, Coleman has said that he hoped to sign before his senior season. He attended an elite camp at Marquette earlier in the fall but remains fairly wide open.
Lamb
Doron Lamb, SG, Laurelton, N.Y./Oak Hill
Player rank (position rank): 33 (8)
Considering:
Scouts Inc. says: Lamb is a scoring wing with excellent size. He must learn to be more aggressive and consistent -- when he is, he is tough to defend. Lamb runs the floor in transition. Although his jumper is streaky, he can knock down the spot-up 3 with time and space. Evaluation | Highlights
Recruiting overview: Lamb has made official visits to Kansas, Oklahoma and Kentucky. UConn is scheduled to get an official from him this month. He has the two Big 12 programs and Kentucky at the top of his list. It's anybody's guess as to when Lamb will make his choice.
