Goodwin to NC State
Kellie Harper has been on the job for little more than two months at North Carolina State, but she took her first big step toward the Wolfpack's future this weekend.
Harper got her first verbal in the 2010 class from Myisha Goodwin, a 5-foot-4 spitfire point guard from Lorton, Va., who chose NC State over Old Dominion and Virginia Tech.
"I liked it all," Goodwin said Monday. "The school, the coaches, the teammates. I feel very comfortable with them."

The Wolfpack wasn't even on Goodwin's radar, and vice versa, until Harper was hired. But the wooing was swift, as Goodwin has visited the campus -- a four-hour drive from her house -- three times, but not to worry quick decisions are one area where Goodwin excels.
At Edison High School during the year and with Fairfax Stars Elite on the club circuit, Goodwin's speed is what will catch the eye, but her smart plays and scrappy moves keep fans coming back. At 5-4, Goodwin can sometimes be looked over, but with the ball in her hands, there isn't much she can't do on the court.
Coming into her final summer on the club circuit, Goodwin didn't want to have any pressure or stress on her come July, when she joins Fairfax for a busy month of tournament play.
"I wanted to get it done before July, just so I can relax and just play now," Goodwin said. "I don't have to impress any coaches or anything."
Goodwin will still impress coaches this summer, but instead of sending letters, they will have to admire Harper's first recruit.
