Spartans still have a shot at White
Earlier this week Spartan Tailgate had the news that Mark Dantonio would be making an in-home visit with running back James White (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) on Wednesday.
Dantonio made it to the Sunshine State as scheduled and made his pitch for the Spartans.

"It went good," White's father, Tyrone White said. "He talked about some of the issues, the kids being suspended and the future of the program. He has to make some tough decisions, to keep kids or let them go. He has to be a father-figure, but also has to do what he needs to.
"We were pretty satisfied with what we heard."
James has made official visits to Michigan State, Wisconsin, Iowa and North Carolina State. The Hawkeyes are no longer recruiting White, but the other three schools remain in the mix.
"Clemson is in there, too," Tyrone said. "He went on an unofficial visit there. They were the first school to offer him. And he went to the Clemson-Florida State game."
In addition to Dantonio, assistant coaches from Wisconsin and Clemson also visited with White on Wednesday. Wisconsin head coach Bret Bielema is making his in-home visit next week.
"He'll decide after the season is over," Tyrone said. "It will be sometime after Dec. 18."
The 5-foot-9 and 195-pound White has rushed for 1,116 yards and 14 touchdowns this season. He also has 194 receiving yards and five touchdowns. St. Thomas Aquinas is 13-0 and ranked No. 1 in the country. Aquinas plays Bradenton Manatee on Friday in the state semifinals.
Kurelic's Comment: After talking to Tyrone White, I think the Spartans definitely have a shot. But there may be some hesitation because of the suspensions. Whether that can be overcome remains to be seen.
