Notes from Charlotte SPARQ combine
WR Jody Fuller wants to hear from FSU, Hokies lead for QB Bucky Hodges and more
Here is a look at some of the recruiting notes from the Charlotte Nike SPARQ combine.
Marinus Bunn, WR (Powder Springs, Ga./Western Alamance)
Bunn, who caught 55 balls for just over 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns last year, said Boise State was his dream school but added he would like to stay close to home to play his college ball. Duke and East Carolina are also in the mix.
Drew Davis, LB (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton)
Davis has an offer from Western Michigan and is hearing from ECU, N.C. State, Wake Forest, Duke and Vanderbilt. Davis attended ECU's junior day and has also taken unofficial visits to Vandy and Wake Forest. He finished with 158 tackles last year.
Romond Deloatch, WR (Hampton, Va./Phoebus)
The tall, lanky receiver out of power program Phoebus caught 28 balls for 605 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. Florida State is a heavy leader and the 'Noles are waiting on his transcripts before offering. Deloatch has attended junior days at UNC, Rutgers and FSU. Virginia, Duke and Tennessee are also high on his list.
Jody Fuller, WR (Monroe, N.C./Sun Valley)
He had a big junior season with 77 catches for 850 yards and 16 touchdowns. Reports 18-20 scholarship offers and lists his favorites as North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Tennessee. Has attended junior days at South Carolina, Tennessee, N.C. State, UNC and Wake Forest. He also said he would like to hear more from Florida State and Miami.
Derrick Green ('13), RB (Richmond, Va./Hermitage)
He hails from the same high school as Ohio State signee, Curtis Grant. Green is a power back who rushed for 800 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. He likes Ohio State, Alabama and Duke, and said the Buckeyes are recruiting him the hardest.
Dominique Green, DB (Laurinburg, N.C./Scotland)
Green is receiving mail from Georgia Tech, Duke, Florida, Nebraska and N.C. State. He plans to go to summer camps at N.C. State and Wake Forest and called Clemson his dream offer. Green would also like to hear from Oregon and said Ducks DB Cliff Harris is one of his favorite college players.
Lavadrick Green ('13), RB (Clinton, S.C./Clinton)
He is already getting mail from Oregon and Clemson and has the Ducks as his top school. Green will camp at Clemson and a few other schools, but wasn't sure where just yet. He rushed for 800 yards and 10 touchdowns last year.
Bucky Hodges, QB (Virginia Beach, Va./Salem)
He has early offers from Virginia Tech and Virginia, and is also hearing from Miami. The Hokies offered Hodges following his freshman season and currently top his list followed by the Cavs, Canes, Ohio State and Texas. As a sophomore, the dual threat quarterback threw for 1,602 yards and 13 touchdowns and rushed for 438 yards and eight more scores.
Keeon Johnson ('13), DL (Kannapolis, N.C./A.L. Brown)
Johnson had 25 catches for 350 yards and eight touchdowns last season. North Carolina is his early leader and the receiver will camp with the Tar Heels over the summer. South Carolina, East Carolina and Georgia Tech are also high on his list.
Kyle Johnson, QB (Hickory, N.C./Hickory)
His brother, Austin, is a senior linebacker at Tennessee and Kyle Johnson called the Vols his dream school. Tennessee is showing interest along with Clemson, North Carolina, and Wake Forest and the athlete said he would love to play in the SEC. Johnson threw for 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns last season and put up a 99.48 SPARQ rating in Charlotte.
Alex Keys, RB (Rocky Mount, Va./Franklin County)
Keys is currently hearing from Duke and Richmond and lists Virginia, where his older brother Ray plays, as his top school. He totaled 1,400 all-purpose yards and 15 touchdowns last year.
Jay Jay McCullough, RB (Charlotte, N.C./Nation Ford)
Miami (Ohio) was first to offer McCullough and Clemson came in shortly after. The Tigers like him as an H-Back and they are the leader at this point. He is going to spring practice at Georgia and South Carolina and called Oregon his dream offer and likes the Ducks uniforms. As a junior, McCullough rushed for 600 yards on 80 carries and had 30 receptions for 300 yards and scored 15 all-purpose touchdowns.
Greg Milhouse, OL (Garner, N.C./Garner)
The lineman racked up 37 pancake blocks last season. Georgia Tech, Duke, East Carolina, N.C. State and Ball State are showing interest and Milhouse is still waiting for his first offer. He has attended junior days at ECU, Duke and Georgia Tech and Notre Dame is his dream school.
Devin Oliver, RB (Mt. Olive, N.C./North Duplin)
Oliver has an offer from N.C. State and said the Wolfpack are his current leader. He attended their junior day and is also hearing from Wake Forest, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Clemson. Oliver put up a 114.15 SPARQ rating, which was good enough for second best at the combine.
Rhakeem Stallings, LB (Chesapeake,Va./Oscar F. Smith)
The athletic linebacker led the Tigers in sacks with 12 last year to go along with 70 tackles. Stallings attended a junior day at William and Mary and listed his top schools as Virginia Tech, Clemson, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, Arkansas and Florida State. Stallings is still waiting for his first offer.
