'Noles, Gators grab top pledges

Touted offensive lineman Jacky Claude of Miami-Edison, Fla., has committed to Florida State over Miami-Florida, Ohio State, North Carolina State, Auburn, Rutgers and South Florida, among many others.

The Florida Gators pledged defensive back Dawayne Grace of Jacksonville-White, Fla., over Miami-Florida, Florida State and Maryland. The Gators recently gained offensive lineman Jason Watkins of Lakeland-Lake Gibson, Fla., over LSU, Auburn, Michigan State and Oklahoma.

Class 2005 offensive lineman Justin Schifano of Webster-Schroeder, NY., has committed to Michigan over offers from Miami-Florida, West Virginia, Boston College and Syracuse. He is the third junior to give an early pledge to the Wolverines.

Defensive lineman Domata Peko of College of the Canyons, Cal., is headed to Michigan State. The Spartans recently gained defensive lineman Daniel Zynn of College of the Canyons, Cal.

Running back Kory Sheets of Bloomfield, Conn., is expected to chose Purdue over Iowa. Among others were Nebraska and UConn.

Northwestern gained quarterback C.J. Bacher of Carmichael-Jesuit, Cal., who decommitted from Oregon State. The Wildcats recently added running back Brandon Roberson of Pearland, Tex., over Louisiana Tech.

Texas A&M has a commitment from offensive lineman Travis Schneider of Bellville, Tex. The Aggies recently gained linebacker Terrence Smith of Northwest Mississippi CC, Miss., over Alabama, TCU and Texas Tech.

Baylor added defensive back Marlon Price of Lancaster, Tex.

The Tigers recently gained receiver Mike McIntosh of Jacksonville-First Coast, Fla., over Florida, Florida State, Auburn and LSU; and defensive lineman Dorrel Scott of Columbia-Ridge View, SC., over Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Iowa and Nebraska.
