Cotton transferring to Detroit

Brandon Cotton, a Top 100 freshman guard from Detroit-DePorres, Mich., has transfered from Michigan State to Detroit. Cotton recently returned from a stress fracture that sidelined him for a month.

Highly-touted Class 2005 junior guards Louis Williams and Mike Mercer, teammates at Snellville-South Gwinnett, Ga., have committed to the Georgia Bulldogs.

Freshman guards Quinton Day of Kansas City-Paseo Academy, Mo/USC Trojans; and Tim Blackwell of Cameron, Mo/Creighton, are both transfering to UMKC.

Iowa sophomore forward Nick DeWitz of Chandler, Ariz/Utah Valley State CC, Utah, will transfer to Oregon State.

Forward Cyrus Tate of Flossmoor/Homewood-Flossmoor, Ill., is a late sign with Northern Illinois.

Sophomore guard Steve Sir of Minnetonka/Cretin-Derham Hall, Minn/San Diego State, has transfered to Northern Arizona.
