QB Xavier Lee selects 'Noles over Auburn, Texas
One of the nation's top prospects, quarterback Xavier Lee of Daytona Beach-Seabreeze, Fla., has chosen the Florida State Seminoles over Auburn and Texas, among many others. Lee, who passed for 3133 yards and 37 touchdowns as a senior, is Florida's all-time prep record holder in passing yards (9,082), completions (549) and touchdowns (98). The Seminoles also gained huge offensive lineman Geoff Berniard of Lafayette-St. Thomas More, La., over South Carolina; and receiver Kenny O'Neal of Oakland-Skyline, Cal., over Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oregon and Nebraska.
Top 150 receiver Xavier Carter of Melbourne-Palm Bay, Fla., has committed to LSU over Florida. Among many others were Florida State, Miami-Florida, UCLA and South Carolina. The Tigers also added athletes Harry Coleman of Baldwin-West St. Mary, La; and Patrick White of Daphne, Ala.
Miami-Florida has commitments from Top 150 defensive lineman Dwayne Hendricks of Millville, NJ., over Virginia and Iowa, among many others; defensive back Anthony Reddick of Fort Lauderdale-St. Thomas Aquinas, Fla., over Georgia and Ohio State; and defensive lineman Antonio Dixon of Miami-Washington, Fla., over Florida, Florida State and Rutgers.
Regarded as the best high school prospect in Nebraska this year, Top 150 defensive back Cortney Grixby of Omaha-Central, Neb., chose the Nebraska Cornhuskers over Notre Dame. Many others included Iowa, Minnesota and Kansas State. The Huskers also gained commitments from Top 150 running back Brandon Jackson of Horn Lake, Miss; defensive lineman Adam Blankenship of Tulsa-Union, Okla; running back Fredrick Franklin of New Orleans-Carver, La; receiver Gabe Hatchett of Sacramento City CC, Cal; quarterback Joe Ganz of Palos Hills-Stagg, Ill., who decommitted from Eastern Michigan; and offensive lineman Cornelius Thomas of CC of San Francisco, Cal.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have commitments from defensive lineman Justin Brown of Forestville-Bishop McNamara, Md., over Penn State; and defensive back/receiver Junior Jabbie of Princeton-The Hun School, NJ., over Boston College, Missouri, Penn State and Wake Forest. Notre Dame recently gained Top 150 running back Darius Walker of Buford, Ga., over Alabama, Stanford, Ohio State and Arkansas.
Mississippi pledged Top 150 linebacker Gary Pack of Hattiesburg-Oak Grove, Miss., over Auburn, Florida State, Tennessee and Southern Mississippi; and running back Lavarus Giles of Benoit-Brooks, Miss.

Reserve red-shirt freshman quarterback Noah Allen of Pearland, Tex., who recently announced he would transfer from Oklahoma, has enrolled at Sam Houston State. The Sooners recently pledged Top 150 defensive back Marcus Walker of Waco, Tex., over Florida State, LSU, Arkansas and Texas A&M.
Starting junior running back Derek Farmer of Tyler-Lee, Tex., has decided to transfer from Texas A&M to Stephen F. Austin. Aggie backup junior quarterback Dustin Long of Port Neches-Groves, Tex., recently transfered to Sam Houston State.
Rutgers has a commitments from defensive lineman Renold Fenelus of Fort Lauderdale, Fla; and defensive back Bruce McKever of Belle Glade-Glades Central, Fla. The Scarlet Knights recently gained offensive lineman Jeremy Zuttah of Edison-JP Stevens, NJ., over Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Maryland and Iowa.
North Carolina snared defensive back Derrick Fulton of Lake City-Columbia, Fla., over Clemson, North Carolina State and South Florida. The Heels recently gained offensive lineman Thomas Nyaoga of Arlington-Mansfield Summit, Tex., over Colorado.
Georgia Tech pledged kicker Kyle Belcher of Albany-Deerfield Windsor Academy, Ga. The Yellow Jackets recently gained running back/defensive back Drew Gause of Spring, Tex; and defensive back Djay Jones of Kingsland-Camden County, Ga.
South Carolina has defensive back C.J. Barber of Rock Hill-Northwestern, SC., over Clemson; and offensive lineman Evan Spangoians of West Chester-Lakota West, Ohio. The Gamecocks recently gained quarterback Antonio Heffner of Memphis-Melrose, Tenn., over Kentucky, Louisville and Memphis; and running back Antonio Lamar of Snellville-Brookwod, Ga., over Maryland and Mississippi State.
Vanderbilt has pledged defensive linemen Gabe Hall of Virginia Beach-Atlantic Shores, Va/Fork Union MA, Va; and David Carter of Waynesboro, Pa/Fork Union MA, Va. The Commodores recently gained defensive lineman Theo Horrocks of Fayetteville-Lincoln County, Tenn.
Louisville has commitments from Super Prospect defensive back Bobby Buchanan of Joliet-Catholic, Ill., who decommitted from Illinois; tight end Gary Barnidge of Middleburg, Fla; defensive back Chris Hampton of Memphis-Melrose, Tenn., over Arkansas, Memphis and Mississippi; and defensive lineman/tight end Breno Giacomini of Malden, Mass. The Cards recently gained Top 150 quarterback Brian Brohm of Louisville-Trinity, Kty., over Kentucky, Tennessee and Notre Dame ESPN Brohm Chat; running back George Stripling of Jacksonville-Jackson, Fla., and defensive lineman Adrian Grady of Douglas-Coffee County, Ga.
The UCLA Bruins pledged quarterback Patrick Cowan of Bellflower-St. John Bosco, Cal. Redshirt-sophomore running back Tyler Ebell of Ventura, Cal., who started eight games this past season for UCLA, has decided to play for UTEP and new coach Mike Price.
Oregon has pledged offensive lineman Mark Asper of Odgen-Boonesville, Utah, over BYU, Utah and Arizona. He will first go on mission. The Ducks recently gained outstanding running back Terrell Jackson of Corona-Centennial, Cal; plus Top 150 defensive back Willie Glasper and Super Prospect linebacker Terrance Kelly, both from Concord De La Salle, Cal.
Arizona has defensive back B.J. Dennard of Phoenix-Brophy Prep, Ariz., over Arizona State, Colorado State, Oregon State and Utah; and receiver Bobby McCoy of Houston-Klein Forest, Tex., over Texas A&M, Arkansas and Notre Dame.
Oregon State pledged running back Patrick Fuller of Covina-Charter Oak, Cal; running back Keith Johnson of Elk Grove-Laguna Creek, Cal; receiver Marcel Love of CC of San Francisco, Cal; and linebacker/defensive back Keith Ellison of Redondo Beach-Union, Cal/San Diego State/El Camino CC, Cal.
BYU added athlete/kick returner B.J. Mathis of Richardson-Berkner, Tex; and receiver Michael Reed of Baytown-Lee, Tex.
