OL Kyle Mitchum is headed to Columbus

One of the nation's top offensive linemen, Lydon Murtha of Hutchinson, Minn., has decommitted from Minnesota and will play for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. The Huskers recently gained Top 150 defensive back Cortney Grixby of Omaha-Central, Neb., over Notre Dame; Top 150 running back Brandon Jackson of Horn Lake, Miss; defensive lineman Adam Blankenship of Tulsa-Union, Okla; running back Fredrick Franklin of New Orleans-Carver, La; receiver Gabe Hatchett of Sacramento City CC, Cal; quarterback Joe Ganz of Palos Hills-Stagg, Ill; and offensive lineman Cornelius Thomas of CC of San Francisco, Cal.

Top 150 offensive lineman Kyle Mitchum of Erie-McDowell, Pa., has pledged to the Ohio State Buckeyes over Iowa and West Virginia. He also considered Michigan, Boston College, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin, among many others.

The Florida State Seminoles gained touted offensive lineman Dumaka Atkins of Sarasota-Booker, Fla. The Seminoles recently added one of the nation's top prospects, quarterback Xavier Lee of Daytona Beach-Seabreeze, Fla; offensive lineman Geoff Berniard of Lafayette-St. Thomas More, La; and receiver Kenny O'Neal of Oakland-Skyline, Cal.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have commitments from defensive back Leo Ferrine of Jersey City-St. Peter's Prep, NJ; and quarterback Darrin Bragg of San Jose-Bellarmine, Cal. Notre Dame recently gained defensive lineman Justin Brown of Forestville-Bishop McNamara, Md., over Penn State; and defensive back/receiver Junior Jabbie of Princeton-The Hun School, NJ., over Boston College, Missouri, Penn State and Wake Forest. The Irish are expected to gain offensive lineman Allen Smith of Tempe-Corona Del Sol, Ariz., later this week.

North Carolina State pledged Super Prospect tight end Octavious Darby and receiver John Dunlap, both from Hollywood/Chaminade-Madonna Prep, Fla.

The Iowa State Cyclones pledged defensive lineman Collins Eboh of Des Moines-Roosevelt, Ia. The Cyclones recently gained defensive back Josh Hargis of Vista, Cal/Grossmont CC, Cal., who had 11 interceptions this season; and defensive back Thad Jones of Tallahassee-Lincoln, Fla.
