Bulldogs land touted defensive back
Mississippi State has a commitment from touted defensive back Keith Fitzhugh of Lovejoy, Ga., over Southern California, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Maryland and Vanderbilt.
Tennessee has a commitment from defensive back/running back Marsalous Johnson of Smyrna, Tenn., over Mississippi, Mississippi State and Wake Forest.
Highly-rated quarterback Jonathan Crompton of Waynesville-Tuscola, NC., is scheduled to announce between over 60 offers on Friday (June 25), including Tennessee, Georgia and Miami-Florida. Among many others are Clemson, LSU, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Southern California, Virginia, Michigan and Nebraska.
Clemson has its sixth commitment in running back Tony Nelson of Germantown-Northwest, Md., over Marshall.
Maryland pledged defensive lineman/tight end Tommy Galt of Wheaton-Good Counsel, Md; and linebacker Dave Philistin of Manchester-Central, NH.
Kentucky has a commitment from defensive back/running back David Jones of Belfry, Kty.
Baylor pledged running back/defensive back Quieto Teasley of Katy-Cinco Ranch, Tex., over Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Pittsburgh, Kansas and Wisconsin, among others.

Minnesota pledged receiver Eric Decker of Cold Spring-Rocori, Minn.,
who had 60 receptions as a junior.
Top 150 quarterback Jake Christensen of Lockport, Ill., committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes over Arkansas and Michigan State, among many others. He passed for 3681 yards and 33 touchdowns as a junior. The Hawkeyes also added a commitment from offensive lineman Kyle Calloway of Belleville-East, Ill., over an offer from Kansas, plus interest from Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Illinois and Missouri, among others. Iowa recently gained receivers Trey Stross of Avon Lake, Ohio, over West Virginia, Boston College, Ohio State, Maryland, Syracuse, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana and Kentucky, among others; and Marcus Wilson of Cherry Hill-Camden Catholic, NJ., over Penn State, Ohio State, Virginia, Boston College, Syracuse, Maryland, North Carolina and Rutgers, among others.
Texas A&M has added outstanding
Class 2004 running back Jay Lucas of Baton Rouge-Redemptorist, La.,
for this upcoming season. A recent qualifier, Lucas rushed for 1651 yards
and 24 touchdowns as a senior and had drawn interest from LSU, Nebraska,
Florida State and Tennessee, among others. The Aggies also gained their 12th
Class 2005 commitment in defensive back Devin Gregg of Spring-Westfield, Tex.,
over Georgia Tech, Wisconsin, Houston and UTEP. A&M recently pledged
defensive back Jordan Peterson of Lexington, Tex; and
defensive lineman Paul Freeney of Aldine-Eisenhower, Tex.
Kansas has a commitment from defensive back/receiver Darrell Stuckey of Kansas City-Washington, Kan.
Class 2005 kicker Matt Fodge of Garland, Tex., is headed to Oklahoma State over SMU.
Colorado has added defensive back Terry Wilson of Gardena-Serra, Cal., for this upcoming season.
Offensive lineman Nick Stringer of Topeka-Hayden, Kan., is headed to Kansas State over Oklahoma State.
Texas Tech pledged offensive lineman Andrew Johnson of Adline-Eisenhower, Tex; athlete Kobey Lewis of Abilene, Tex; and defensive back/linebacker Jordan Thomas of Keller, Tex.
Boston College has a commitment
from defensive back/receiver Marcellus Bowman of Youngstown-Liberty,
Ohio, over West Virginia, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Purdue, Indiana
and Illinois, among others.
Pittsburgh has a pledge from defensive lineman Marlon Terry of Akron-Ruchtel, Ohio, over Indiana and Akron.
Connecticut pledged offensive/defensive lineman Joe Akers of Parkton-Hereford, Md.
Virginia has its third Top 150
commitment and 17th overall, as Class 2005 linebacker Lamont Robinson of Salem, NJ., picked the
Cavs over Georgia, Iowa, Miami-Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma,
Michigan State, Notre Dame and Tennessee, among many others. Virginia
recently gained defensive lineman Antonio Appleby of Virginia Beach-Salem,
Va., over West Virginia, Syracuse, Duke, Maryland, Virginia Tech and North
Carolina; receiver Kevin Ogletree of St. Albans-Holy Cross,
NY., over Syracuse, Wisconsin and Boston College; and Top 150 offensive
lineman Eugene Monroe of Plainfield, NJ., over
Florida State, Miami-Florida, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Southern California,
Michigan, LSU, Maryland, Rutgers, Boston College, Michigan State and
Nebraska, among many others. Virginia had earlier received a pledge from Top
150 quarterback Vic Hall of Gretna, Va.
Miami-Florida has a commitment from defensive back/receiver Bruce Johnson of Live Oak-Suwanee, Fla.
North Carolina has a commitment from defensive lineman/tight end Darrius Massenburg of Roanoke Rapids, NC., over East Carolina. The Heels recently added offensive lineman Andre Barbour of Atlanta-North Springs, Ga; defensive back Bryan Dixon of Tabor City-South Columbus, NC; and running back/linebacker Kennedy Tinsley of Greensboro-Dudley, NC.
Arkansas has pledged offensive
lineman Joey Crossland of Russellville, Ark; and
