OU snags receivers while Terps grab linemen
The Oklahoma Sooners have their fifth commitment in receiver Manuel Johnson of Gilmer, Tex., who had 79 receptions as a junior. Among those offering scholarships were Kansas State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Houston.
Maryland has 11 commitments after pledging defensive linemen Jeremy Navarre of Joppa-Joppatowne, Md., over Penn State; and Barrod Heggs of Garden City, Ga. The Terps recently gained twin defensive linemen/tight ends Tom Galt and Dwight Galt, both from Wheaton-Good Counsel, Md; and linebacker Dave Philistin of Manchester-Central, NH.
Iowa has added Class 2004 defensive lineman Ettore Ewen of Tampa-Wharton, Fla., for this upcoming season.
The Indiana Hoosiers have their first Class 2005 pledge in kicker Joe Kleinsmith of Lakewood-St. Edward, Ohio.
Kansas has a commitment from offensive lineman Adam Welty of Newton, Kan. The Jayhawks recently gained defensive back/receiver Darrell Stuckey of Kansas City-Washington, Kan.
Kansas State picked up commitments from defensive back Kevin Hollis of Gilmer, Okla., over offers from Nebraska, Mississippi State and Duke; and offensive lineman Nick Stringer of Topeka-Hayden, Kan., over Oklahoma State. Stringer was considering Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
Highly-rated quarterback Jonathan Crompton of Waynesville-Tuscola, NC., is scheduled to announce between over 60 offers on Friday (June 25), including Tennessee, Georgia and Miami-Florida. Among many others are Clemson, LSU, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Southern California, Virginia, Michigan and Nebraska.

Class 2005 quarterback Paul Blalock of Aurora-Waubonsie Valley, Ill., has picked Illinois.
Class 2004 quarterback Joe Bauserman of Tallahassee-Lincoln, Fla., who had committed to Ohio State, has decided to sign a baseball contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Bauserman, who was a fourth-round selection as a pitcher, was to have grayshirted for the Buckeyes this upcoming season.
Minnesota pledged receiver Eric Decker of Cold Spring-Rocori, Minn., who had 60 receptions as a junior.

The Missouri Tigers have their eighth
Class 2005 pledge in defensive lineman Jaron Baston of Blue Springs, Mo., over
Kansas.
Baylor pledged running back/defensive back Quieto Teasley of Katy-Cinco Ranch, Tex., over Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Pittsburgh, Kansas and Wisconsin, among others.
Texas A&M has added outstanding Class 2004 running back Jay Lucas of Baton Rouge-Redemptorist, La., for this upcoming season. A recent qualifier, Lucas rushed for 1651 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior and had drawn interest from LSU, Nebraska, Florida State and Tennessee, among others. The Aggies also gained their 12th Class 2005 commitment in defensive back Devin Gregg of Spring-Westfield, Tex., over Georgia Tech, Wisconsin, Houston and UTEP. A&M recently pledged defensive back Jordan Peterson of Lexington, Tex; and defensive lineman Paul Freeney of Aldine-Eisenhower, Tex.

Pittsburgh has a pledge from defensive lineman Marlon Terry of Akron-Ruchtel, Ohio, over Indiana and Akron.
Connecticut pledged offensive/defensive lineman Joe Akers of Parkton-Hereford, Md.
