Louisiana QB selects Texas over LSU

One of the nation's top quarterbacks, Ryan Perrilloux of Reserve-East St. John, La., has chosen Texas over Florida, Florida State, LSU and Miami-Florida.

Perrilloux, who passed for 2404 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior, still expects to take all five official trips. He also rushed for another 1274 yards and 21 touchdowns. The Longhorns recently gained Top 150 defensive lineman Aaron Lewis of Albuquerque-LaCueva, NM., over Florida State. Among others were Georgia Tech and Texas Tech.

Arizona has a commitment from Top 150 tight end/receiver Jermichael Finley of Diboll, Tex., over Arkansas, Houston, LSU, Texas A&M and Texas Tech.

Virginia has its 20th pledge in quarterback Jameel Sewell of Richmond-Hermitage, Va., over Maryland, North Carolina, Syracuse and Cincinnati.

Auburn has a pledge from offensive lineman Oscar Gonzalez of Hialeah, Fla.

Oklahoma State has a commitment from defensive back Gremon Coffman of Duncanville, Tex., over Arkansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. The Cowboys recently gained running back LaMark Carter of Arlington-Lamar, Tex., over Arkansas and Kansas.

West Virginia pledged linebacker Reed Williams of Moorefield, WV., over Duke and Marshall. The Mountaineers recently gained offensive lineman Frank Carduff of Shenandoah-Shenandoah Valley, Pa.

Big Ten List
Top 150 quarterback Rob Schoenhoft of Cincinnati-Xavier, Ohio, has committed to Ohio State over Michigan. Among many others were Florida, LSU, Michigan State and Notre Dame. The Buckeyes recently gained Top 150 offensive lineman Kevin Bemoll of Mission Viejo, Cal., over Florida, LSU and Miami-Florida, among many others. He joins teammate defensive lineman Ryan Williams, who had earlier picked the Buckeyes.

The Iowa Hawkeyes have pledged Class 2005 linebacker B.J. Travers of Westlake, Ohio, over offers from Southern California, Pittsburgh, Maryland, Kentucky, Syracuse, Indiana and West Virginia, among many others.

Big 12 List
Kansas State has a commitment from linebacker Ross Diehl of Castle Rock-Douglas County, Colo., over Colorado State, Arizona State, Kansas, San Diego State and Wyoming.

Baylor has its 10th commitment in running back/athlete Cordney Smith of Duncanville, Tex.

The Oklahoma Sooners have pledged touted defensive back Keenan Clayton of Sulphur Springs, Tex., over Texas A&M, Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas State, LSU and Oklahoma State, among others. Also headed for the Sooners are Top 150 receiver Malcolm Kelly of Longview, Tex., over Kansas State, LSU, Miami-Florida, Texas and Texas Tech, among others; and offensive lineman Ben Barresi of Edmond-North, Okla., over Oklahoma State and Wyoming. Kelly joins earlier outstanding receiver commitments from Manuel Johnson of Gilmer, Tex., and Eric Huggins of Conway, S.C. The Sooners recently gained defensive lineman Billy Blackard of Claremore, Okla.

Texas Tech has pledged linebacker Ryan Hale of Baytown-Lee, Tex. The Red Raiders recently gained defensive back LaShawn Vation of Irving-MacArthur, Tex.

Boston College has pledged receiver/defensive back Rich Gunnell of Lawrenceville-Notre Dame, NJ., over North Carolina and Rutgers. The Eagles recently gained offensive lineman Austin Giles of Marshfield, Mass., over Mississippi State.

ACC List

Wake Forest has pledged running back/tight end Mike Rinfrette of Bunn, NC., over North Carolina and Vanderbilt. The Demon Deacons recently gained offensive lineman Trey Bailey of Duncan-Byrnes, SC; defensive back Channing Schofield of Wagener/Wagener-Salley, SC; quarterback Brett Hodges of Winter Springs, Fla; tight end/defensive lineman Ben Wooster of Norcross-Greater Atlanta Christian, Ga; receiver Jonathan Jones of Madisonville-Sequoia, Tenn; tight end Ted Randolph of Mocksville-Davie County, NC; and receiver E.J. Wynn of Waldorf-St. John's, Md.

Clemson has a commitment from offensive lineman Jamarcus Grant of Mullins, SC., over South Carolina. The Tigers recently gained offensive lineman Thomas Austin of Camden, SC., over Maryland, Vanderbilt, Penn State, South Carolina and Wake Forest.

Offensive lineman Zach Marshall of Mason, Ohio, has chosen Maryland over Michigan State, Pittsburgh and Boston College.

Arkansas has pledges from offensive lineman Colin Tucker and defensive back Matt Harris, both from Richardson-Pearce, Tex; plus defensive back Elston Forte of Little Rock-Mills, Ark.

Super Prospect quarterback Jonathan Garner of Daytona Beach-Mainland, Fla., has chosen Florida over Stanford, Miami-Florida, Mississippi and Memphis.

Alabama has pledged Class 2004 linebacker/defensive lineman Baron Huber of Knoxville-Powell, Tenn. The Tide recently gained a late signee for Class 2004 in defensive back Jeffrey Dukes of Oxford-Lafayette County, Miss/Northwest Mississippi CC, Miss.

Touted defensive lineman Louis Ellis of Jackson-Lanier, Miss., has decommitted from Mississippi. He is now considering Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Mississippi and LSU. The Rebels recently pledged receiver J.D. Lawhorn of Memphis-University, Tenn., who had 65 receptions as a junior.

Cincinnati has pledged Class 2005 defensive lineman Tyler Clifford of Portsmouth, Ohio.
