Just because we've reached March, the most magical month of the year, doesn't mean we should forget how we got to this point. Here's a quick look back at some of the most interesting and/or impactful results from February:

Feb. 1
• Cornell 75, Brown 64
The Big Red went on the road and won this early showdown between the Ivy's two best teams. After a win at Yale the next night, it has been more or less clear sailing. Cornell is now 11-0 in the league and can clinch its first Ivy title (and NCAA berth) in 20 years Saturday night against Harvard.

Feb. 2
• Stanford 67, Washington State 65 OT
When Taylor Rochestie's driving layup rimmed out at the buzzer, the Cougars had been swept on a league home weekend and Stanford had established itself as the primary challenger to UCLA. The Cardinal-Bruins rematch is March 6 at Pauley.

Feb. 3
• North Carolina 84, Florida State 73 OT
The Tar Heels lost Ty Lawson to an ankle injury early in this one and still haven't gotten him back. Somehow, Tyler Hansbrough led the Heels back against the Noles and hasn't stopped carrying the Heels since. Lawson will return to a team that has changed for the better.

Feb. 4
• Saint Joseph's 77, Villanova 55
The Hawks won the Holy War easily but might have lost the battle. They fell at Duquesne without Ahmad Nivins the next game out and have lost four of their past six -- and maybe their at-large chances -- since pounding the Cats. Villanova also sits on the outside looking in at this point.

• Saint Mary's 89, Gonzaga 85 OT
The Gaels gutted it out at home and staved off the Zags to establish duel threats atop the WCC. The return game is tonight, March 1, at K2 in Spokane, Wash. Winner basically locks up the league crown and probably its at-large status. Loser probably faces San Diego on its home court in the WCC semis.

• Louisville 71, Marquette 57
Yes, the Cardinals already had beaten the Golden Eagles by 20 at home, but this road win really made a nice statement that the Ville was back. It was the second in what is now an eight-game winning streak as the Cards are tied for first in the Big East.

Feb. 5
• Tennessee 104, Florida 82
The Gators hung in for 30 minutes in Knoxville but couldn't keep the Vols from dropping a 60-spot on them in the second half. Whatever the sport or venue, this is always a sweet win for Tennessee.

Feb. 6
• Duke 89, North Carolina 78
The Blue Devils took out the Lawson-less Heels at the Dean Dome and briefly had a hammerlock on the ACC before subsequent Duke losses at Wake Forest and Miami brought the Heels back even.

Feb. 7
• Pitt 55, West Virginia 54
Ronald Ramon's 3 at the buzzer ultimately could be the difference in Pitt's getting into the NCAAs and possibly keeping the hated rival Mountaineers out. Other than that, it wasn't all that important …

• Massachusetts 78, Rhode Island 76
This game was a must-win for the Minutemen, and they got it, kicking off what has become a late surge toward the NCAAs and starting Rhode Island's shocking collapse, which has reached six losses in seven games.

Feb. 9
• Miami 74, Virginia Tech 71
It looked like an unimportant game at the time, but it launched Miami's four-game winning streak that got the Canes back into the at-large mix and is a blow to the Hokies, who are 8-6 in the ACC and making their own run to get into the Dance.

• Kansas 100, Baylor 90
The Jayhawks dropped triple digits on the Bears without making a triple (0-for-9 from 3). That's hard to do.

• Purdue 72, Wisconsin 67
This win at the Kohl Center, and a sweep of the season series, stamped the Boilers as a very legit force in the Big Ten and beyond.

Feb. 10
• North Carolina 103, Clemson 93 2OT
The Tigers blew about 37 chances to win the game in regulation and in the first OT and finally were done in by Hansbrough's 39 and 13 and Wayne Ellington's 28 points. It didn't help that Clemson made one free throw in the entire game.

Feb. 11
• Georgetown 55, Villanova 53
0.1 second left … TWEET! … What the?!?! … . Imagine if the Wildcats had shot better than 12.5 percent from the field in the second half.

• Texas 72, Kansas 69
Who's the best team in the Big 12? Maybe the team that has beaten three other potential No. 1 seeds.

Feb. 12
• Vanderbilt 93, Kentucky 52
It wasn't even that close, as the Dores led 41-11 at the half. Incredibly, this is Kentucky's only loss in its past 10 games. That is, if you don't count losing Patrick Patterson, which probably torpedoes the Wildcats' at-large hopes.

Feb. 13
• Connecticut 84, Notre Dame 78
Luke Harangody found out that 32 and 16 aren't enough to bag a big road win in the Big East. So he tried 40 and 12 on Feb. 28, and that still wasn't enough. It's a shame the Irish don't play any more marquee road games this season. Harangody could go for 60 and 30.

• Wisconsin 68, Indiana 66
We're not playing Purdue? Cool, we're all good then.

• Saint Louis 63, George Washington 38
Now which team is having trouble scoring, huh?

• Southern Illinois 65, Drake 62
It's the game that broke Drake's 21-game winning streak and launched SIU's current five-gamer that has the Salukis very much back in the at-large mix.

Feb. 16
• Syracuse 77, Georgetown 70
In their quest to make sure they have the exact same at-large profile as last season, the Orange took out the Hoyas.

• Brigham Young 74, UNLV 48
The Cougars basically reversed the 29-point loss they suffered in Vegas and took control in the Mountain West race.

Feb. 17
• Michigan 80, Ohio State 70
Reader e-mail sent that day: "How does this bad loss at Michigan hurt Ohio State's at-large hopes." Writer response: "It really damages them." Reader reply: "Good. I'm a Michigan fan."

• Wake Forest 86, Duke 73
Two takeaways from this one: Wake's backcourt is exceptionally quick, and Duke's chances at the No. 1 seed in the East took a hit.

Feb. 19
• Indiana 77, Purdue 68
Now what do we do? Purdue swept Wisconsin, Wisconsin swept Indiana and Indiana swe- … oops, never mind. IU and PU play just once. Three cheers for unbalanced schedules!

• Oklahoma 92, Baylor 91 OT
If it weren't for Baylor's 5OT win over Texas A&M, this probably would be the Big 12 game of the year. Baylor was up by three very late in this one when it first allowed a four-point play, then missed two free throws in the final second to lose. If the Bears miss the NCAAs, this is the game that will haunt them.

Feb. 20
• UAB 101, Houston 99
Fluff McKiver's ridiculous game (41 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists) was not enough for the Cougars, who missed a very important chance to bury UAB. The two teams probably will meet in the C-USA semis, and that now looms as a knockout game for the NCAAs.

• Miami 96, Duke 95
No need for the Blue Devils to peek over their shoulder anymore. The Tar Heels are right next to them again. For Miami, this added a true marquee win to a strong computer profile for at-large consideration.

Feb. 21
• South Alabama 69, Western Kentucky 64
The Jags finished the sweep of the Toppers on the road and control their own destiny as far as the Sun Belt title and very serious at-large consideration, if needed.

Feb. 22
• Davidson 60, Winthrop 47
Incredibly, this is arguably Davidson's best win of the season. That's why at-large talk for a would-be-seven-loss SoCon team seems futile, as good as the Wildcats are.

Feb. 23
• Drake 71, Butler 64
The Valley champs took out the Horizon champs in this (Bull)dog-eat-dog battle at Hinkle. No matter, Butler fans. Last season, your team lost the marquee BracketBusters game at home to Southern Illinois and ended up in the Sweet 16.

• Oklahoma State 61, Kansas 60
Yes, the Cowboys are playing better, but this was still a huge upset and has Jayhawk Nation on edge again heading into March.

• Kent State 65, Saint Mary's 57
The Golden Flashes got a huge road win over a Top 25 team (first time ever in the regular season) that should be enough to propel them to the NCAAs.

• Utah Valley State 76, NJIT 50
0-29. Just three years after Savannah State's unthinkably bad campaign, the Highlanders went one (loss) better.

[+] EnlargeTyler Smith
AP Photo/Mark HumphreyTyler Smith and Tennessee earned a landmark win against Memphis, but the celebration didn't last long.
• Tennessee 66, Memphis 62
The game gets a 10 for intensity and a 2 for execution. Great win on the road for the Vols, and maybe the pressure release will benefit the Tigers in March.

Feb. 24
• Xavier 57, Dayton 51
The Musketeers were the ones flying their way to the A-10 crown while possibly maiming Dayton's at-large hopes.

Feb. 26
• Vanderbilt 72, Tennessee 69
The Vols' joy over ascending to No. 1 lasted a day as the Commodores got revenge for a 20-point pounding in Knoxville.

• Indiana 72, Ohio State 69
Dan Dakich's first home win as interim coach and another hole in the Buckeyes' at-large hopes.

Feb. 27
• Navy 83, American 68
Who'd have thought Navy would be in line to win the Patriot League? The Midshipmen need only a win at Colgate on Saturday after finishing a sweep of league co-leader American.

• Texas A&M 98, Texas Tech 54
Good way to break out of another losing skid. Will this win give the Aggies the confidence to finish strong and be a threat in the NCAAs?

Feb. 28
• Quinnipiac 76, Central Connecticut State 73 OT
A leading candidate for Revenge Moment of the Year when former Blue Devil DeMario Anderson made a running 40-footer at the OT buzzer to beat his former team in his former gym.

• Saint Louis 64, Saint Joseph's 55
The latest in a long string of results that are going the wrong way and killing the A-10's NCAA Tournament chances.

• Wisconsin 57, Michigan State 42
Did someone reverse the game tape of the 2000 national semifinal?
